Five changes when you hit 50 years old - and what to do to combat this ageing process.
As we age, our bodies go through many changes. When you hit 50, you may notice some changes in your energy levels, physical appearance, and overall health. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you navigate this new stage of life.
First, you may find that your energy levels are not what they used to be. You may feel more tired after physical activity or have a harder time staying awake during the day. This is a normal part of aging and can be managed by getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, and staying physically active.

Spot on buddy… i am about to celebrate my 50th birthday in a few days and i am preparing myself mentally for the past few months. Fortunately exercise is not a big challenge for me as I haven’t stopped working out since i was 16 yo and plan to continue until the end…but the mind indeed plays games. And now as gradually elders in the family are passing away , bad thoughts about the future keep crawling in. My mindset though is that i will now enter my more mature state of life where there are no mysteries anymore and no reason for overthinking, holding grudges, try to explain behaviours of others etc…Just taking care of myself, my loved ones, be healthy, not procrastinating in doing things i love and whatever lies ahead, let it come…

I have always been proud that I could do 20 push ups at any time. After getting sick for a few months, now I can't even do 10, I never thought I would lose muscle so quickly! Trying to get back in shape, but it is so much harder than it used to be.

Yep. Took me a while also to get back to working out, nothing too heavy. I have some free weights, a bench and some bands. I'm 55, I try to do 1 body part a day, 5 to 6 days a week. I spend about 20 - 35 minutes or so working out, and I walk every day for about 40 or so minutes. It makes me also feel good, helps clear the mind, I find it beneficial. Of course, eating healthy plays the biggest role.

Liked & subbed. Early 50s here. And now on a path to health for the first time in life. Quit smoking after heart attack at 50 then stopped drinking nearly 20months ago, as an experiment really after drinking to much wine during lock down. A brilliant decision, now I love the alcohol free lifestyle & movement that’s happening. Moved on to other things like diet exercise regime mental health breaking other bad habits like stupid use of social media etc, studying language, drawing, the journey keeps developing, unfolding.

Great stuff, good to hear....yep, lockdown got me exercising and now it is a habit, and since I don't go out much, I hardly drink - and overall feel the next version of myself right now.. ..👍👍

You got this! All of this up til now was just practice for the real game, which starts now! Like you, I’m ready to make my 50s the best decade ever. I turn 52 later this year and my obsession is to get back into the awesome shape I was in during my 20s and take my decades of industry experience in residential property Management to start my consulting side business. Get excited! We’re about to enter into the best years of our life!

Thank you, it was useful. Men should always keep their grind, whatever the age. Staying active physically is extremely important. I do running and i'm forcing myself to do some weights and exercises to keep improving my shape. I have never been overweight, but i was getting over the limit of normal weight, and i forced myself to reduce my carbs intake, and started running more. In 6 months i went from 165 pounds (75 kg) to 145 pounds (65 kg) and i fit again in my clothes, and i'm trying to turn my life around and be more proactive, and plan for my future by little steps instead of procrastinating and seeing life go by and dying slowly and not enjoying some of the best years in life.

I am 54 and I feel great. But I think society has this entitled expectation for us to fall apart, as we get older, but I believe that Age is a number and it's all about attitude. Thanks for your video.

All these things started happening to me around 45. I'm now 48 and feel like I'm 60. Starting to wonder how long I actually have. I'm a person who doesn't even like to take an ibuprofen, but I'm giving thought to TRT just to improve my quality of life. Thoughts? Opinions? Experiences? Anyone?

Do you do regular exercise and stuff? What's your diet like? I'd suggest you go through some of the "easier" stuff to do - see how that changes your outlook etc...

Good video . Funnily enough turning 50 didn’t bother me at all . I don’t mind having the “zero” after the first digit , it’s turning 51 next month that’s depressing me as that’s when you’re really “into” your 50’s if you know what i mean , that slow downhill path to 60 is properly underway . The only surprising thing about this video , especially with regards to points 1 , 2 & 3 , is that you never mentioned TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) . It’s something that’s literally changed millions of older mens lives and I’d recommend it to all men over 50 . I inject one ml of Test a week and it’s an absolute game-changer , I can outlift most guys in my gym , including those substantially bigger than me , and my daily energy is through the roof (and the 6 pack waist is a nice touch for the swimming pool/summertime) . If any older guys are suffering lethargy & depression I’d definitely suggest they ask their doctor for a testosterone reading check and take action accordingly . Loving the pac man print in the background , I guess we’re all of age now where we remember playing the original cabinet version - and Space Invaders !
