Hey bud, loving the sxs Cape Episodes…well done. Just a question regarding permits for the buggies (if any), I see you have conditional rego? It seems like a very grey area when searching for info. Interested in how you see it. Cheers Greg
@outnabout_oz9 ай бұрын
Gday mate, Glad you are mate, appreciate the feed back very much! We did get the both our buggies to be conditionally registered. This in bush land I believe is allowed. There were also some people about without rego. To the best of my understanding it’s down to the discretion of the officer that pulls you up if your going to be fined etc for the vehicle being used depending on the area. What we found out while up the cape was the telegraph track is actually a confirmed registered road and if the officers are driving it you can be fined or defected like any other area of Australia. I’m unsure if the conditional rego helps? it’s seems to be somthing people do tend to do as far as tripping about with sxs and quads up north. I pushed to have mine registered and sorted it all out just to make sure I’m doing as much as I possibly can to be as legal and safe as possible for what we wanted to do. Do I recommend doing what we’ve done? Most definitely!!

@@darryllspalding9680 we built these trailers from scratch mate. Unfortunately finished them in cairns before our trip up the telegraph track so teething issues are going to present themselves. Lack of prep time meant we left without proper assembly steps met, we believed it would be ok and I’m not going to make KZbin shows to show how good somthing might be if it’s not. U bolts stretch and things need time to bed in and on corrugated roads this these things will be accelerated due to conditions.

Nice vid mate. Thinking of going there in Jan. From your experience, does your 4x4 have to be lifted to get around moreton
@outnabout_oz Жыл бұрын
Thankyou for the feedback mate. Much appreciated. Not at all, I wouldn’t say you need suspension lift in any way. In my opinion suspension lift only allows clearance to run bigger tyres, bigger tyres when aired down correctly would allow for more traction but also not an essential. If your running a real low profile tyre on say an Amarok or somthing of the sort that has a factory large alloy you may not be able to rely on the air down method.

Daniel Fernandes Barbosa thanks mate! I really appreciate the feedback on it! To be honest I think you’ll be more than fine. It’s typically quite an easy track and the best part of double island is you can make it as hard or as easy as you want. Just remember to try and air down. Servo stations arnt to far from the actual beach to air back up once on the road of you don’t have a compressor.

@@outnabout_oz on a hot dry day you need to be down any where to 10-13psi all round and a lot of A pedal. your basically right at the starting point where you need to be sending it with momentum. another 1k or so and you would have saw it. to be honest your lucky you got stuck where you did. if you got to big sandy its very unlikley you would haul that trailer up there and theres not alot of room to get out

nic Smith was full on that loud pedal to get that far. Really need to get up and experience all it has to offer!
