I'm keen to get up and check this place out. I have had two videos pop in my feed lately on 5 rocks. Looks like a sign to me 🤣

As you can see mate I still haven’t been to 5 rocks 😂 still on the list. Hoping for a weekend later in the year to make the most of it. No trailer of course 🤣

That’s barely the start of big sandy I’d like to see anyone haul a load up there like that good effort for making it that far

nic Smith well we honestly had no idea where it started. Definitely felt like we we’re on it though! Thanks for the positive feed back, we do try to go anywhere

@@outnabout_oz on a hot dry day you need to be down any where to 10-13psi all round and a lot of A pedal. your basically right at the starting point where you need to be sending it with momentum. another 1k or so and you would have saw it. to be honest your lucky you got stuck where you did. if you got to big sandy its very unlikley you would haul that trailer up there and theres not alot of room to get out

nic Smith was full on that loud pedal to get that far. Really need to get up and experience all it has to offer! We managed to back down not to far from where we got stuck and I was able to back the trailer into a clearing to turn around. This setup I can fully jackknife and it proved to be a great asset in this situation.

Did you get up big sandy with that trailer? It's a bloody monster. You been to Cape Palmerston?
@outnabout_oz2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately no we didn’t. We had a local offer to drag us up but I’ve seen footage and not sure we would have got back down haha. Cape Palmerston is on the list!

@@outnabout_oz if you can get right up to windmill bay then go for it, most of it is beach driving but there are less flies and midges and overall it's much cooler and better camping. Try Dawsin Beach and Glendower Point in the same area near Koumala.

Let your tyres down more, on the trailer as well

Got the whole lot down pretty low. This hill is surprisingly steep and we hadn’t hit the worst of it yet! Currently planning another trip back.

It’s a good old hill that one. Get to the top and all is well. Three rivers beach exit gives a few people hell though

This is one of many that’s got away from me mate. Pretty keen to get back minus the trailer and have a good look around. Really missed out by the sounds of it but also bloody lucky not to get to far in as well maybe haha.

I’ve seen many people towing trailers have to turn around & find somewhere else to stay. On a hot summers day expect to go down to 10psi just to get up that soft sandy windy climb. It can be a real bugger!

Cliff Booth right on the start of the warming weather so to speak being mid September but I feel like this trailer is just not cut out to be heading to 5 rocks. It’s just not meant to be! Swag only next trip.

So what pressures were running in the trailer.
@outnabout_oz4 жыл бұрын
Trailer tyres all round got to 10psi and just couldn’t make it any further than this spot. Had a few cracks but not for us! We will return mate. Keen to see this beach!

When I’m towing my camper trailer, I let the tyres down to match my Cruisers tyre pressures, makes a huge difference in the sand. 😀

James Geitz definitely! Unfortunately with this combination there was no getting up we reckon 😂 we got right down to about 9-10 psi on Ute and trailer was about 12psi. Just ran outta talent 🤣
