When I was about 7 years old, the baby sitter from across the street was watching us kids. I was napping and she came to wake me up, and she said, "Come on down and see Dark Shadows...the rotted hand....the rotted hand!!" I leaped up out of bed, saw this segment of this episode, and was terrified. Was hooked on Dark Shadows going forward. Would run home from elementary school everyday to watch it at 4 pm.

I was on meth the first time I seen this show and I just could not sit still it was riveting

Someone in the production of this episode of "Dark Shadows" must have known something about the reading of tarot cards. The way young David had the cards laid out on the table matches the arrangement of the tarot cards in the "Mad Men" episode made decades later and called "The World" in which Anna Draper does a reading for Don Draper. That scene from "Mad Men" is also on You Tube. Interesting but at the same time I encourage people to stay away from tarot cards and ouija boards and other means of divination.

Humbert Allen Astredo was the best villain on the show in all 3 of his roles.
