I thought the Laura character was very intriguing. Glad she was brought back in the flashback to past centuries. She gave Angelique a run for her money

Dr. Guthrie and Bill Malloy were 2 very under rated characters! I was so bummed out that they were killed off:(( If not for Mrs Johnson's big mouth, Dr. Guthrie wouldn't have died!

Something I've noticed watching the pre-Barnabas episodes of Dark Shadows is that the early episodes feel more cinematic compared to the more theatrical style the show would develop later on. But that's what happens when you hire mostly New York theatre actors. :)

Once again, the special effects are best in black and white. I never forgave Laura for dispatching Dr. Guthrie. That was a despicable act on her part. Boo, Hiss.

Laura Murdoch was just as terrifying as Angelique maybe more so since Angelique was a woman scorned while Laura was a blood sacrifice entity .

For those who are interested Big Finish Audio celebrated the 50th anniversary of Dark Shadows by presenting a 2 and a half hour stand alone audio drama "Blood & Fire" which tells the tale of the origins of Laura Murdoch Stockbridge. What a cool story to present for DS' 50th! Check it out. It was awesome!

@ThymeBottle I am going to treat myself soon by starting to buy the DS original series starting from the beginning-but my greatest kudos to the original supernatural creature of DS. Laura Collins and Count Petofi were the greatest villeins in the series. I am sorry Laura was not brought back one more time for a final one and one showdown with Angelique-although I think to keep the mythology of the Phoenix intact, it would have had to occur in either parallel time or the 18 or 21st centuries.

He found out that Laura Collins was a Supernatural Creature, a Phoenix, and had been reborn multiple times, and he was going to expose her secret. This is why she killed him.

@RPenta @RPenta You'll enjoy the whole series. You're right about Laura, the Count, and the showdown. It was my mother who originally watched the Laura episodes when she was home recovering from surgery. About then, there was a teleplay, with Lee Radziwill, Jackie Kennedy's sister, playing "Laura", and much in the news. I would confuse Laura Murdoch Collins with that Laura so that it didn't make sense when my mother described Laura C.'s antics. Laura C. scared me as a kid.
