Before Genie was even 18 years old she had portrayed a young victim of statutory rape by David Hamilton, marriage to Scotty Baldwin, rape at the Campus Disco by Luke, and coming to grips that she loved another man besides her husband. All of those were Emmy worthy performances. Not to mention the summer on the run in 1980, the ice princess storyline in 1981and the biggest wedding in soap opera history. Also, her performances in the 90's were incredible. She should have had a stack of Emmy's.

There is no one more important to daytime television than Genie Francis. I have no clue why Hollywood did not scoop her up as a major star. She is an incredible actress and a wonderful person. People always thought Tony Geary was the star, but it was Genie they always brought back for the sweeps to prop "Luke" up. Genie is still on GH holding the show together.

It's not the big moments I remember like the wedding. Rather smaller ones. When Luke would hold her hand. Anytime words were not necessary like the scenes shown here. All he had to do is say her name. Or the times Laura would run to him she was so overjoyed to see him. We were overjoyed too.❤😢

In 2015, they should have had him die in her arms declaring his everlasting eternal love for her and her declaring her love for him.. That would have been a great ending to their love story. It also would have allowed Laura to mourn and then eventually move on with another love like Kevin.

You know I was upset in 2015 with the way Luke left the show. I really wanted him to ask Laura to go explore the world with him. I wanted to watch the two of them together walk down the docks into the fog. But now I realize how lucky we are that he left alone, once Tony Geary left the show Genie was able to come back full-time. We have had our beautiful Laura on General Hospital for going on 9 years straight now. And yes while Luke has since died in a cable car accident, Laura has found a new love in Kevin. She has saved the world from the Cassadine ice machine all by herself by remembering the code from 1981. She is amazing and the mayor of Port Charles.

I just read about a tribute to jackie Zeman. Airdate January 10th and 11th. 2024. Amsterdam is mentioned in the fictional story. So the audience had better see Luke Spencer!! There is only one. Why mention where Tony Geary lives and NOT have him show up?? Here's hoping... ❤
