I love your videos! In one of the , you mentioned you make some or all of your project bags. Is there a pattern you’d recommend?

I have had Cascade Eco Hemp sitting in a failed Great Gingham sweater for a couple years now and I have been wanting to rip it out and repurpose it but have not for the life of me known what to make with it....well you QUICKLY answered that question for me. That Tee No. 1 looks so good and comfy on you, I'm 100% going to make one too. So happy to see you and all your projects again! I kinda love the "F it, ill just rip it out and repurpose the yarn" vibes you instill instead of swatching. 🤣 In the end, you still get to knit something fun. and the yarn eventually gets used, right? lol

Haha yess!! The Tee No. 1 was so worth it in the Cascade Eco+ Hemp! It's a wee bit scratchy but it's been working for me for the cooler days so far! I really enjoyed working with it!! And yessss I don't mind having to frog a project partway through if it's not working out -- I mean, I basically get to knit with lovely yarn twice haha! 🤣

I don't know how you do it! Teach us! How do you manage to knit so much in a couple months? How much time do you put into knitting a day? Or are you just really fast! I used to crochet and knit daily and almost all day some days, i don't anymore which has really slowed garments from being finished. Crochet is really quick compared to knit too, you're incredible and i love seeing your bew fo's, wips and future projects 🤗

Thank you haha! I do get a lot of time to knit most days -- I actually wake up extra early just to squeeze in a couple more hours to knit before starting my day 😆 I would say on most days I might knit upwards of 5 or 6 hours! Some days more, some days less though 😅

My favourite notion is kind of not really a notion, cause it’s my project bags; especially the projects that allow me to knit while walking 😊 Other than that it would be a crochet hook or fix it tool for dropped stitches.

IMHO, Mel makes stuff is the best podcast out there. Beautiful and difficult less known patterns, very good commentary, extremely knowledgable advice and not trying to sell people anything. Amazing quality content just for the sake of sharing with the community. I greatly appreciate it.

Fun vlog! I was excited to see you are a "thrower" in your knitting style and you still get so much done. I'm a thrower too & I've just been doing it too long to change now. I also perked up when you mentioned Isabell Kraemer. By far one of my fav designers. Im currently knitting her Elah cardigan with Knit Picks Wool of the Andes. Would love to see you knit some of her stuff!

Thank you so much! It was definitely a treat to check out some of the yarn shops outside the valley -- since the two in Abbotsford closed over the past couple of years, it's been a bit more difficult to get out to the shops that are further away. I was so grateful to my younger sister for offering to drive to Valley Yarn and Black Sheep Yarns on LYS day lol! Editing this video together was definitely a long and tedious process, but like you said, it should get easier! I had to look up how to do certain types of edits, and now that I know how to do them, it should take less time in future videos to edit!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked this vlog! I was so anxious about it lol 😆 Aw man, that's too bad that you don't have any nearby local yarn shops 😢 While online shopping opens so many possibilities, there's nothing like seeing the yarn in person before buying! Hopefully someday a yarn shop will open up closer to you!

Another great episode, and a new style for ya too with the talk over feature, loved it. Looks like you had a great time, I can't wait till the next episode (but I will lol) seeing the shops you visited was really nice, ty. And very good point, online images aren't always the same when seen in person, their hues, tones and vibrancy can certainly differ from real life. This was a lot of work for you I know, but definitely liked the video and you did great!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad that this vlog style video seems to be going over well! It was definitely quite the process to film all day one day, and then edit all of the footage down into a cohesive video the next day 😆 Thanks again for the heads up about Local Yarn Shop Day! The timing of everything just worked out so perfectly for the video! 😊

Hi Jenny. I started the scrap bag after watching this. I had bought acrylic yarn that I thought reminded me of hand dyed yarn called Caron simply soft Speckle. It has a pretty color name called Wisteria Glycine. I’ve never in my life done Judy’s magic cast on, I’ve only one time tried magic loop and I’ve never heard of the Fold & Knit Bind off, but I watched the tutorial and it’s easy. I’m always happy to learn new techniques. Thanks for the recommendations. All the tops you chose are pretty. Take care Rosy

I own the Vilna - you need about 1200M (not yards!) of a sport weight yarn to knit the full dress in a 38 inch bust according to the author. You'll be fine with your yarn quantities. Also, the buttons are real!
