There's something I don't understand. Is this a tablet? If not, is it a monitor? How do you manage the screen with touch when you open dex wirelessly from the phone? It would be great if you made a video on how to do it.

@gate95957 ай бұрын
Very nice setup bud. I have a question. I'm assuming you are using a power source for the monitor as well. If so, when you turn the car off, and the monitor loses power, does your phone try to power it prompting you to unplug it from the monitor? If not, and the monitor stays off, does it drain your phone battery? Does the monitor turn back automatically in DEX when you turn the car on. I have a larger 18 inch monitor in my car that is giving me some strange problems. I suspect it might a power issue coming from the car. 2024 Accord LX. The car has auto stop idle that can only be temporary turned off. So every time the "auto idle stop" engages, the monitor turns off and turns back one 2 to 4 seconds later.

Thanks, man. I have a fused relay triggered by the ACC wire to two 100W Type-C PD chargers. 1 for the Type-C hub (powers phone and Fiio DAC) and the other to the monitor. When I turn the car off, everything shuts down. I have "Charge connected device" turned off on the phone's settings, so it doesn't try to power anything connected to it.
@gate95957 ай бұрын
Thank you for the reply. I tried disabling "charge connected device" so my phone doesn't try to power the monitor, but it just won't turn off. Perhaps disabling "hdmi auto start dex", I'll try other things such as HDMI auto start dex to see if that'll let me disable "charge connected device". Any other suggestions are welcome.

@khamadiojiambo You can add it to your car in just a few minutes with no modifications. Your car has a glossy plastic trim around its infotainment, which is excellent to stick double sided tape to. Strategically place no more than 4 magnetic phone mounts that you can get from Amazon. They’ll come with metal plates that stick to the back of your tablet/monitor. These magnets are relatively small (About 6 x 2x 2 cm, or 6x 2 x 0.5 cm ) with extremely strong magnets (neodymium N52s) Unless you want a 15 inch monitor or more in your car, a Samsung tablet (10 to 14 inch) would make the most sense). None of Samsung flagship and FE edition tablets require a monitor to run DEX, and DEX works much better than on a monitor. You don’t have to deal with cable management; it will just be a clean tablet on your dashboard thar you can remove anytime. DEX works very well on monitors, but it just works excellent on Samsung tablets. Note: Any tablet or monitor larger than 10 inch may be in the way of your AC vents (something to consider). You may get away with mounting a 12 or 14 inch tablet vertically.
