Hi Millie, these are really great tips! Thanks so much for sharing. One question please, how do you keep your privacy and location protected from the weird people that are out there or crazy stalkers while running a KZbin channel? Just curious because I know that there are people that like to put themselves out there and show their face and how they go about their business or lifestyle, but you have weirdos out there lol

One thing I always do is make sure I don't share my location if I am out for the day/weekend/on holiday on social media until I am back home from there. I also keep my address as private as possible and hope to one day have a PO Box to help with this!

I tried outsourcing, but it never comes out the way I want it to. I always feel bad about going back and forth with the manufacturer, so I really need to get over that. Maybe in the future I'll feel more comfortable outsourcing, but I think I'll wait until my shop is consuming a lot of my time .. Similar to what happened to you.

I started my business last year 2023 as an artist and have made my own KZbin channel called Katie's Beautiful Abstract Art I don't have a lot of people liking my art apart from two and only 24 subscribe. I have got my own website, Facebook, but no buyers is that norma,l what am I doing wrong. I live in Lincolnshire as well!!

@@soninim I believe they only charge £1 for your first month on Shopify as a trial so you can see if you like it or not, and then their monthly plans start from around £25 per month 💕

#1 creating everything with your own hands isn’t a mistake. Some of us just have to do it to get it done, especially if we cannot afford to outsource. #2 you don’t charge ENOUGH for your items and that actually does more hurt to other handmade sellers as it makes others have to cheapen their worth too.

Hey! I just want to clarify that I never once said that making products by hand is a mistake. My main point was that you shouldn’t feel like you have to do everything yourself, whether that’s making products, marketing, packing orders, etc. It's all about finding a balance and asking for help where you need it. Personally, I make the majority of my products by hand, and I genuinely enjoy that part of the process. I definitely understand that many of us, including myself, have to do things ourselves, especially when we can’t afford to outsource. As for pricing, I appreciate your feedback. Pricing is always a tricky topic, and I’m always trying to find the right balance. I’ll take your comment into consideration as I continue to evaluate my pricing. My intention is never to undervalue handmade work but to make my products accessible while also sustaining my business.😊

I just want to assure you that I only work with brands I genuinely believe in and think will benefit my audience. Since I started using Omnisend, most of my website sales have come from email marketing. So, I know not everyone feels the same way about emails from brands and small businesses being 'junk'. My goal is to share my journey and help other small business owners, and I believe email marketing with Omnisend is a really powerful tool for that.

Hi Milly 🤗 I launched my new small business selling glassware and accessories (to start off with) in August (literally 16 days ago) and this video was super duper helpful, especially the email marketing part as I keep forgetting to do this 😅 Thank you for making this video 🙏🏻 You probably know this already being the small biz queen that you are 👑 but just in case you don’t, I’ve installed the CedCommerce app on my Shopify website which links to my Etsy shop so it tracks my stock on both platforms 👍🏻 So for example, if I had 2 daily affirmations glasses in stock then I’d put that I have 2 on BOTH my Etsy shop and on my Shopify website - if somebody bought 1 of the glasses from my website, it would show that there is 1 left on BOTH platforms meaning I wouldn’t need to manually amend the stock count on either 👊🏻

Now would be the perfect time to start with Omnisend as they have a completely free plan for when you’re just starting to build your email list! So helpful Milly, I am still struggling to set up my shopify store. I just don’t know why I can’t get my head around it. I bought my domain and so far I have used it. It’s so frustrating. Anyway.. it’s a yes to a part 2 from me 😊

I also had this issue with Shopify! It just didn’t seem intuitive in the least. I ended up moving my domain over to SquareSpace and it makes wayyyy more sense to me 🤷🏻♀️

Hey Bev! Omnisend actually have a huge bunch of tutorials on their website and on KZbin, and when you set up your newsletter and an automated welcome email workflow, it’s super easy to create the email and personalise it with your brand colours etc! 😊 Definitely have a look at their KZbin tutorials once you’ve got set up and you’ll find it super easy.
