The small business friends question really resonated with me, it can feel lonely especially as I'm still in my first year x

Bless you, you are definitely not alone! Please reach out to people and I definitely recommend joining some patreon/community groups if you can, too!! 💕 xxx

@@printsbymilly I think I just need to find some comfort in reaching out, I naturally don't as I'm an introvert but I will definitly look into some community groups. I'm sure my area (east midlands) has things I can get involved in as well xxx

The problems I face is not being able to ask questions when I have them. For instance… someone has commissioned me to crochet a dog like their late one, it’s easy enough to do however I can’t find a certain colour wool… where do I go who do I ask 🤷🏻♀️.. I have done 2 markets, one was an indoor table top sale, it was really slow as the weather was beautiful and there was another major event ongoing in the town, my table cost £12 I made £36 at that.. I did another one. Outdoors.. it rained as I set up it wasn’t looking good. My space cost £35 at the end of the day I took £184 which surprised me. I work shifts and find it so hard to replenish my stock.. I do it all myself! I am 8years to retirement too.. I don’t know if I am taking on too much! I closed my shopify shop before I even opened it! I was completely overwhelmed!!

Thanks for all your explanations. I can relate about feeling alone. My environment (family, friends) are not related with illustration and the type of crafts I like so I can't speak about things I see or I love, worries about my business or doubts, etc. so yes, sometimes I feel isolated. joining a patreon group may be a good idea!💖

Love your videos Milly! I'm happy you're stepping up your vlogging game, a mini mic is a great idea, but make sure you record in stereo. I'm not sure if it's an editing thing or it's from the mini mic, but whilst listening to your video with a headset, i could hear your voice only from the left side, while the background music is stereo. Not trying to be negative or anything, i only hope this will help you for the future! Stay awesome!

@@paulaaliman346 thank you so much for watching! Someone else actually mentioned this too in the comments and I *think* I have managed to fix it!! I hadn’t changed one of the settings for the audio recording. I appreciate you pointing it out - always learning!! ☺️💕 x

It's interesting to hear you talk about small town markets as I'd often thought the same, especially if your ideal demographic is unlikely to be there 🥰

Definitely! I always think it's worth spending that little extra if it means more exposure and sales in the long run ☺💕

I just took the leap to start my own small art business and I unfortunately work full time right now. While I don't have any plans to leave my job for a looooooooong time (maybe if I pay off my house) I do plan on putting my all into this small business because I really want to finally do something that is more fulfilling and makes more of a difference. I'm really looking forward to my future since making this decision, but I am worried about not being able to find a balance between my full time job and this creative adventure.

This is so exciting! It is hard work, I won't lie, but it's so worth it in the long run if you are able to go down to part time hours in the future or eventually go full time. When I first started I was doing a full time teacher training course so I was out teaching every week day from 8.15 - 4.30 every day and I had to do all of my small business work every evening when I got home. It meant many late nights but I wouldn't change any of it now that I know it was all worth it!! 🌸💕 Wishing you all the best!! xxx

Thanks for making this!! I think the mic audio is only on the left and the music on the right. I'm not too bothered by it, though.

Your videos are calming, friendly and so helpful. They are also very professional. Did you have all the equipment you have now (bar your new cute fluffy mic) to start out, or did this just evolve over time?
@printsbymilly6 ай бұрын
I'm so pleased you enjoy the videos! ☺💕 No I started with a different camera (Canon G7X Mark II) and I didn't use a microphone up until recently, then now I also obvious have the mini mic too for when out in public etc! I've built up my equipment and software as time has gone on which I think you can definitely see if you go back and watch some of my very first vlogs haha! 💕

Thanks so much for watching! I started mine a few months after starting my KZbin channel because I felt like I had a really close knit community over here, so I think if you have a social media platform where you feel quite connected to your audience, I'd definitely promote it there first if you do start a Patreon! ☺💕

Idk about the UK but people in America (im in America) are boycotting Etsy cause they are screwing over the small businesses right now and banning them for no reason. I think there is other reasons for the boycott too but i forgot. I would recommend looking into it if you have Americans buy from you :)
