As much as I appreciate the beauty in what AI can produce, I can't help but remember that at best it is a poor faximilie of real life. Of course in time it will only become more believable, but what worries me is that people forget that these models are only shadows of reality, trained on media to reproduce reflections of what we already have in fleeting abundance. The more that we become enamoured by generative AI like this, the more, I feel that we will forget where it came from and neglect the truth and beauty of the world around us.

You know, it's funny. I used to dunk on Gacha Life for being a killer of creativity and imagination since it encourages peoppe to waste their time playing shitty dress up with uncanny animated characters, only to now see that AI is leagues worse. At the absolute bare minimum with Gacha, you have to actually choose clothing to put on the weird characters. AI being a means to automate content generation is nothing, because it's not man made. It's a big ball of nothing that doesn't and never will have meaning, there's no creativity behind it when it's plagiarism. So I believe people should revolt against corporations. If we don't do anything in 2024, then we're finished.
