Does this work for casting heavier spinners from shore in the salt? Replace the tubing with a 1/4 or 1/2 oz "body" for weight? My main thought is that the components would slide too much when you cast, and get tangled or not look like a spinner on the retrieve (jumbled mess). Also, why monofilament instead of something harder, like fluorocarbon?

That is a lamprey they are not supposed to be in freshwater lakes or rivers they are a invasive species and are kind of scary😅

Lampreys spawn in fresh water and spawn in the Columbia River Watershed. The Army Corps of Engineers count them as they migrate through the fish ladders. It's absolutely appropriate to see them in Freshwater and Native Americans have been eating them for thousands of years.

Lampreys are Native to the Columbia River

@mattoster7845 well, it's the Pacific Lamprey native to the Pacific ocean and they move into rivers all along the west coast to spawn. Like salmon.

My general go-to is Flo Red Flatfish. So, using the Mag is really no difference. Its really hard to find Flo. Red Flats but I do have these but yet to try them. Everything you said is spot on though.

Odd that the tournament doesn't require the fish to be gilled and gutted. Hard to stuff 6 ounce banana weights in a gutted and gilled fish.
