Some great footage and views of Taipei from the Grand Hotel. Thanks. The views with the two pools and the river show the Yuan Shan club in the foreground and Club 63 in the background which was a club for American serviceman stationed in Taiwan. It later got taken over by The American Club and they still use that location today. I swam in both pools, many, many times.

Was there in '74 and '75. In '74 though the exterior was built Space Mountain did not open until '75. Yes a lot of space and greenery. you turned off of 4 and drove and drove through with nothing but forests on both sides of you, then suddenly Disneyworld opened up in front of you. Truly magical in a way that most people today don't know and can never be recaptured. It reached the point of no return with the new Fantasyland when they got rid of Mr. Toad, Snow White's Scary Adventures and 20,000 Leagues. My favorite part of the park. And the Diamond Horseshoe Revue in Frontierland was a joy. Now the Magic Kingdom does not have the sparkle and richness it once had. And they are chipping away at Frontierland. But people today don't know so they don't miss it. What an exhausting expensive ordeal it must now be.

I wish you would put in the description exactly where you were clearly you're at Disney world at the beginning but then it transfers to Cyprus gardens and then there's a parade and I'm not sure where exactly that is but it's not Disney It doesn't even look like it's in Florida help please

Jeezusss! What with the cost of gasoline in that motorhome and everything else, I'd bet they had to shell out AT LEAST 4 or 5 HUNDRED DOLLARS for that two week trip! (I'm talking NEW CLOTHES, GASOLINE, FOOD, SIDE TRIPS, PARK ADMISSION, SOUVENIRS AND OTHER INCIDENTALS) Anyone else notice how we're being regularly screwed with "our" modern FALSE ECONOMY?

We went 18 June 1974 for the first time. I had just turned 7. I remember it was VERY hot but we stayed the duration..9 AM till just before Midnight. WDW was SOOOO much better in those days. This also makes me miss my Mom, Dad and Brother.

I'm pretty sure I went down in 1974 with my family, we took the Auto train that took our station wagon. Back then I was five years old. I remember my brothers being around 12 years old and being allowed to do the park together without my parents until after dark, cannot do that today.
@joefroelich49347 ай бұрын
I went there in 1972 I had forgotten how open everything was with the lack of landscaping. It was better back then. I have an old ticket book. It was $6.50 to get in to the park. I have probably been there maybe 100 times in the last 50 years but now it all about how many people they can cram in and how much money then can bring in. I talked with an employee once around time around 1990 at the Polynesian Resort. He had worked there before the opening. He said that Walt would roll over in his grave if he knew what they were doing to the place.
@TheOldTapeArchive7 ай бұрын
Back when it's theme park imagineers, script writers and actors were hired on merit. Disney today is an agenda driven dumpster fire, to the point where Walt couldn't get hired there today.

In 1975 we drove from CT to FL in a 1974 Ford LTD, no air conditioning, vinyl bench seats, mom and dad, me and my two older sisters. The ONLY things at WDW were the Magic Kingdom, Ft. Wilderness, Contemporary, the golf course and the Polynesian Resort. We also went to Cyprus Gardens - that is something I could have done without as a 7-year old.
@ScottShedd1237 ай бұрын
Wow! These people are being really rude to the Disney cast members in costume, grabbing them and stuff. No need to act like that as a grown adult.
