And how do you keep the noise from the charging supply out of your amplifier? Is that a switcher?!? You're joking. Pass.

I rewired my entire audio room with nordost Valhalla power cord cable to get the purest possible sound. I then opened up all my audio hi-fi components and removed all the lines and replaced them with small bits of Valhalla wire and soldered them in. The end result gives me pure sound unlike no other. The sound is so pure I experience something akin to autonomous sensory meridian response euphoria.

Ian sell 2 versions a 5v and a 3.3 you can not change the 5v to 3.3 as far as I know at least without changing components

I used a couple 13Awg silver plated ofc copper And 11 awg The TD1 accepts 13 awg easily the 11 are stiff and require removing some strands Lately I have been using red and black only I find it less prone to connection errors

@CtoscanCk-p3f il y a 11 jours Ck hello do you think it is possible to use this item with one amplifier transistor marantz for example and one tube amplifier (the Yves cochet ALun 6550 tube) with just one pair of speaker not two on the Neo Maybe it is not good to let on the tube amplifier without speaker cause it need charge Im french so excuse me for my english not really good
@Gabster16 күн бұрын
Le neohippo a des résistance à l’intérieur. Quand il n’y a pas de haut-parleurs en connection ça devrait marcher mais essaye de ne pas pousser la limite du volume au max juste au cas, car au de la de 50 watt tu prend un petit risque

Hi, @Gabster1 I searched the internet for an answer, but could not find it and since you are very knowledgeable, what is the difference between FifoPiMa and Fifopi Q7, first is running in Master clock mode and other in sync mode. But that unfortunately does not tell me much.

WTF is this obscure wankery? There are plenty of Arduino (and not-Arduinos) that can do USB to I2S. Teensy 4 for example, SAMD21 (not the Xiao), some ESP32s. The cost on those range from $5 to $35.

I'm genuinely trying to understand what the issue is with these quarts cristals. Is it just a issue with their tolerances? Because if i try to understand what is going on from a physics perspective it doesn't make any sense that one would be able to hear differences between quartz cristals as long as their timing tolerances are measured to be within specs and a competent thermal compensation circuit is in place. This line of thought would also imply that a secondary clock is quite useless if the primary clock meets the requirements. Please don't see this as personal criticism. I'm trying to understand how this works.

Scientists are still trying to find the reason behind the correlation between number of audiophiles in a neighbourhood and the increased noise in its power network. Meanwhile, the only proven way to get clean power is to move to neighbourhoods with no audiophiles. 😉👍

I appreciate your your informative videos. I'm planing to make a streamer like that in the video. Iancanads's new FifoPi Q7II comes with new "ultra-low-phase noise XOs." They look quite different than the ones in your FifoPi Q7. Do you know whether these are as effective as the Accusilicons and/or Crysteks? Thank you.

As always great review and great information. One question will the Burson V7 Vivids fit inside the case or will I have to grab my Dremel and mod the case or buy the connectors that Burson sells that allow you to install them 'sideways'? TIA

There is about 25mm max in height also the 2 opamps are close to each other and some other components so you be the judge. I do not own any. Hope that helps

@@Gabster1 Thanks it does help. The v7 is 20mm high (according to Burson's specs page) that gives me 5mm clearance.

Hi, i have been following your and other people's dac projects with the intent to build my own. I appreciate your take on the power supply question. Unfortunately, i only have limited financial resources so I will have to be creative. I already have a simple raspberry pi 3b streamer with a even more simple cinch s/pdif hat connected to the internal dac of my amplifier. I have several working and not working TDA CD players, so no shortage of chips. But im not sure what DAC I'm actually going to use. You see, I was thinking of putting more of my funds into the output stage by using the Lampucera design. That tube design uses a more modern dac chip that has a s/pdif input. It looks as gorgeous as it sounds if i may believe the people that have build it. So, my idea is to use your supercapacitor power supply design to power a Lampucea. As for the DAC chip itself, i'm torn between using a TDA or the one in the original design. In theory the TDA should be superior and it has a sound i know well from my CD players but it might be to warm for that already quite warm output stage that works so well with it's more modern dac. I will have to sleep some more on that I think. 😂 My dac project should also have a quality headphone stage as i use my headphones more than my speakers. Again not sure what design would be better for the headphone, a tube or a opamp. To warm is a thing. Anyway, enough rambling from me. I will have to do more thinking on a somewhat budget friendly final design that suits my needs.
