I’m soo happy I found this!! This is exactly how I feel right now. I’m a finance major with an mba and have been working in finance for roughly 10 years. I was never meant to do this. The only reason I chose finance was because I loved the analytics and the spreadsheets and creating things. But the accounting side and all the reports that are meant for one time use is going to be the death of me. I so badly want to switch to tech and have no training whatsoever. I’ve been learning things online in my own time, but you really convinced me that I need to up my game because it could be possible. ❤

fwiw you didnt do anything wrong by using a drill; if you want, you can set the clutch on your drill (the little ring with numbers on it next to the chuck) to a lower number to ensure that it wont strip any screws. start it really low and it will click and give out before you're done, and then you can slowly adjust the chuck number up until its JUST high enough to drive your screws all the way in. that way you'll get the screws in much quicker than a screwdriver, and wont have to worry about stripping. you're handier than you give yourself credit for, this looks great!

Same here, not quite as bad, but my left prescription is way thicker than my right. But my right eye doesn't make up for my left eye, I'm just DOL without glasses 😅

I have the same issue, but i had to get glasses. I was getting splitting eyestrain headaches every day from my good eye taking on all the work. And now that eye is getting worse vision too :(((

Wow it’s the same for me. My left eye is the strongest and allows me to see 20/20 in both eyes but when I cover my right eye I have blurry vision.

I also have horrible vision, but in both eyes!! my lenses stick out too lol, but I’m not considered legally blind bc my vision can be corrected to 20/20 with glasses. I can’t imagine how life would be if my vision was blurry all the time lol

I sincerely wish you the best of luck. I got laid off in December 2019 from a great paying job with yearly bonuses, benefits, 401k, and everything I ever wanted. Then a few months later covid-19 happened. For about 2 and 1/2 years I applied for no less than 700 opportunities. I have the proof. And I believe I received about 10 or 15 interviews. During that time I lost everything including everything in my savings and my 401k. When my unemployment ended, out of desperation I had to take some retail job. And I'm still looking for work. Ironically, my former employer that laid me off and financially ruined my life hired me back with a remote role, but of course it's only paying half as much as what I used to make. I was making $17,000 more a year on unemployment. Long story longer, it's tough out there. So I hope you get the job and the pay you deserve.

Maybe companies are afraid of lawsuits. Our team had two Black employees sue the company for racism, even though 80% of our team were minorities, mostly Indian and Chinese. The company is afraid to touch the Black employees because they have ongoing cases. One of my peers, he's Black and super smart, and I admire him. The two suing the company are below average. Good at talking and complaining, but when it comes to actual work, it's sub-par. I am just curious why so much focus is on color or gender? Why not just "The Engineer" instead of "The Black female engineer"? I never classified myself as "The Brown Male Engineer," people would laugh at me endlessly. Anyways, best of luck to you.

People with the right skills are valued in tech. This persons attitude would make them a problem in a team. The lefty thinking and talking points are her problem. Yes DEI got wrecked in the tech layoffs because they brought ZERO value to the companies. Lady if you want a job just learn the fundamentals of computer science properly. Stop blaming leftie issues as the cause. Your attitude is off-putting to be honest with you.

I'm interested to know the outcome of this. Someone recently sued a company for discrimination because they did not interview him under his "ethic name", but did offer the interview once he changed his name to a "caucasian sounding name" on the same resume 🤦🏾‍♀️. This is a major conversation right now.
