I always thought torque converters worked by transferring rotational energy through a fluid medium. I was wrong.

A torque converter doesn't bolt to a flywheel.. it bolts to a flex plate. A flywheel is for a clutch set up

No, it’s the friction of the oil to the turbine that drives the vehicle. The stator redirects the oil in periods of turbine stall such as getting the car to move.Once the car is moving the stator overruns.

Hands down the best mechanical explanations of common automotive troubleshooting I have ever been privileged to watch. Every @MrLopezclasses video will clearly break down whatever the subject matter is. Mr. Lopez is worth his weight in gold. +100 to you and obv subscribing. (Side note: I purchased this exact Power Probe after my window regulator and window switch broke. I was able to troubleshoot which component was broken by operating the window up and down with the power probe which eliminated the window regulator motor. When i tried the same with the power window switch, it didn't work so I replaced the power window switch with OEM replacement with no further issue. The switch cost $70 and the regulator would have been $90, but if I had just guessed and bought parts without verifying it would have ultimately cost $160. All that said, the probe cost about $120 and I have only used it twice since purchase. Would be great for a shop for certain.)
