So not the modulator? Does this mean my cable is too tight or too loose?
@troykane6 күн бұрын
@@Keeterbob You have to set the cable adjustment. The cable end goes into a bracket at the the carb. Look at the cable housing, there is a metal clip, like a horse shoe. Pop that clip up or open, then put the throttle to wide open, with the engine off. with the throttle wide open snap the clip back down to lock it in. It's done, good luck.

Compliments (C), then Questions (Q): C1: I apprecitiate you starting with the conclusion. C2: I appreciate your comparative process. It saves us from doing the same. C3: I appreciate you showing us just how you did it without cutting key steps. Q1: How did you remove and then reinstall the window? That would be nice. It wiould also be nice to replace a trashed window in a good top. Q2: How would a Royobi buffer, about 10 inch circular, work? Q3: Would 3M or another product remove the horizontal fold lines from...whatever? Thanks!

First off I would like to say that the work you did on the tank and fenders was awesome. I want to do the exact same color on my 98. But I want to do it over a Black metallic. To get that deep dark dark red so dark that at night it looks black. I was wondering if you had ever sprayed this color over Black metallic ?
@troykaneАй бұрын
Yes over black will give you the dark look you are looking for. You can also thin the KBC down and apply less of the red color. This will give you more black.

You have a vacuum leak. Plug the hose coming off the pump and see if it will stop automatically.

I'm 68 years old, and have been turning wrenches for nearly all my adult life. That includes both during my time in the Navy, mostly with motorcycles, and after as a pretty competent shade tree - to the point where I actually made a pretty good living buying old cars, fixing them up, and turning them over. It also includes nearly 30 years as a professional mechanic, and I said all that to say this: I've never seen anyone do this. That includes a couple of driveline specialty shops I worked at in San Diego, and North San Diego county. It was always assumed that the bell housing fit on the dowels, and the transmission just naturally centered onto the bell housing. Good gouge, Troy.

Great video that also explains a lot about manufacturer tolerances. I've had this problem on a couple of vehicles including a tractor that took a lot of work to identify and correct, but once it done transformed the shift performance. My only difference was I made a crank spigot on the lathe fractionally undersize to the hole and used feeler gauges to obtain centre, your dial indicator system is definitely better (when you can see it). Cheers.

@@terrylinellc5550 does it stumble and stall? It could be vacuum related. If it shuts off like when you shut the key off it could be electrical.
@Darkhorse5ohhАй бұрын
I could really use something like this. I have a gm truck with a Magnuson 1900. From my understanding the blower works off of vacuum would you know if this pump would effect performance of blower?
@troykaneАй бұрын
Your supercharger is pushing air into the engine. Without the supercharger the engine is sucking in air, which is vacuum. Therefore you esentially have no vacuum with a supercharger in boost. So yes this would be an alternative source of vacuum to run your brakes and I would highly recomend it.

Ok so this is where I get confused. My entire system is Holley. You and them say to set the static timing. Now is the engine(harmonic balancer) tape at 0 TDC while the electronic system sets it at the static timing or do you set the engine(harmonic balancer) at 20° and your telling the system that's what the engine is set at. I've also noticed that the "phasing" tool that Holley gives you sets the distributer AFTER the number one cylinder spark. And it was giving me issues there. So with all that said. Is the engine supposed to be set at 20° BTDC or is it supposed to be set at 0° TDC and you're instructing the computer to move the distributor itself as it's controlled by the ECU

I want to ask, why are you vague about which screw to adjust first, there TWO ADJUSTMENT SCREWS with green springs ..... I don't know which one is the "throttle blades screw" (in fact when i search for sniper 2 throttle blade screw, there is pictures of the actual small brass screws that hold the throttle blade, butterflies onto the throttle blade shaft) I'm assuming you do not mean those throttle blade screws, but why not just SAY which screw is which??? What's the point in an instructional video of being vague about it?? Is it meant o be funny? Or a prank of some kind???

I didn't think I was vague. Same as an idle adjustment screw
