This defensive shuffling does show that we could regret not bringing another CD in over the summer. Losing van den Berg after Matip this summer might come back to bite us. Hopefully Ibou and Conor aren't going to be out too long and Trent is close to 100% and doesn't suffer a setback for being brought in without being eased in. I'm really enjoying your shows Mo. Definitely a different approach to most of the others out there, and a very good quality. You have regularly shown up the press journalists because you have considered how both Liverpool and our opponents are playing and then asked a pertinent question. Obviously Arne is a very good "considerer" of his answers, even to your great questions😂

@garethjones341Thanks Gareth - I really appreciate the support. I don't think it's ever possible to have enough players for every eventuality - squads can only be so big, and the Chelsea method of registering certain players for certain competitions has it's own problems. We didn't lose Van Den Berg in my eyes because we never had him as part of the squad. You could make a stronger argument for Philips on that score! FTR I don't think Ibou will be out for long, and we have a backup CB who was good enough to play nearly half of our league games this year, who so far has only played half of one! Meanwhile Man United's £50m CB hasn't kicked a ball yet. Squad management is such a tricky line to judge.

I don't think "a disciple" is the right term. He just recognised the ideas and things he could us as did Pep with the Johan Cruijff ideas.

@mostewart3437 so I don't agree with the 442 description if disciple is linked to some kind of adoration that is. Slot doesn't do adoration of anybody just like Pep doesn't adore Johan Cruijff but took his ideas anyway and just like Arne Pep also never made it a secret where his inspiration came from.

Not sure where it was (possibly TAW) but recently someone was trying to figure out which of our 2000s managers Arne was most alike. Personally, I think he's taking just the right amount of the best bits of many of them and also many of the good ones at other clubs. He's then blending it into his own style and, just like with his team, he's delivering time and again. I have hope too, that should we one day have a bit of a slump, he will have the nous to get us out of it fairly quickly. I hope they're planning on announcing his contract extension within this season too. He's clearly one we do not want to lose any time soon.

@@Aviopic I don't think disciple is linked to any adoration in this context, more of a reference to someone who uses someone else as a stylistic reference point. He's not throwing on a robe and sandals to follow Pep around the North West, spreading the inverted full-back gospel! 😂

How many journo's are in a presser usually? How do they decide who asks Q's first? Do ye compare notes before hand as to who ask what?

Depends on th opposition. There will have been a lot (20) for a) Liverpool top the league and b) City are champions.

@@TR4zest This has been my experience as well. European games tend to have more, as well as the bigger Premier League games, or after a week in which there's been a big Liverpool story, but there's a core of 10-15 who are there week in, week out

once again best question in the presser and Arne clearly respects you good job mate. in fact you forced Arne into his first ever mistake as liverpool manager... he was biggin u up so much that he actually forgot to answer the question that you asked 😂. Im not good with words but i wanted to say that im guessin there's not many black journalists at these things but i feel you set a great example to young people by always askin the best Qs and its like people are forced to respect you on pure merit cos your deliverin the goods. 3-0 tonight!

Thanks a lot! You're right to say that there's not a massive amount of Black journalists within the local press pack, so I'm very proud if anyone is able to take inspiration from from me. As for Arne, I'm not convinced that he does anything by accident- the times when he doesn't answer my questions are because he doesn't want to put something into the public sphere

bit disappointed with Arne's response to your question, his answer was all about them and a little subservient for my liking Yes we've played them before, that was then, this is now, we're here to win, end of story.

The way I see it, he doesn't do anything by accident. The times that he doesn't fully answer my question are usually because he doesn't want to, for whatever reason, and I respect that. In terms of how he spoke about Madrid, the same applies. After a game in which we took the lead and then took our foot off the gas, it probably helps him to reiterate that it's not over until it's over. Also Madrid are the kind of team that enjoys having their ego stroked, and Slot probably felt that was better than giving them motivation via some perceived slight. I don't expect that reverence to be in evidence when the game starts

I had to respond to the Ibrahima chat, because I fully believe that that's exactly what takes for a good/very good player to become élite, *mentality*! The mind is the body's most powerful tool, and I'd say we're witnessing the full harnessing of that power by Slot - let it keep rolling!

I wached Klopp's PCs to be entertained, but from Slot's, I find myself learning from him. I like his cool laid back style..., completely the opposite to Jurgen, but neither have lacked in quality. They are both different, but both just as entertaing.
