big if in the dehumidifier one Get it if you need it, but u dont necessarily need it. If u live somewhere hot and use an AC a lot, the AC is basicly a dehumidifier already, its actually pretty beneficial to get a humidifer if you use an AC a lot, also if you just live in a dry climate, humidifiers help a lot, dehumidifiers dont

Reducing humidity is BAD. This is one major reason why people are more likely to get sick during the winter when humidity decreases. Far better to get a HUMIDIFIER.

I found that vacuuming with a hoover that has a water tank instead of the dust bag has really reduced dust in my home. I think it is because the ones with the dust bags blow out some of the dust at the back again.

The best way to reduce dust is to 1 - do not live in your place 2 - do not turn on furnace or AC 3 - do not have pets in the house I summary, buy your place and don't live in it and you won't have dust to deal with! 👍

I have what seems to be an abnormal amount of dust in the house I moved into. I have birds so I vacuum, dust, and damp mop often. This seems much more than I had before. I'm going to get door mats and air cleaners. I change the furnace air filter often and just had my air ducts professionally cleaned so let's see how that goes. The previous people hadn't cleaned the pellet stove or wood-burning stove for years either.

I bought 'Pink Stuff' some time ago and have used it several times - but not really any good on any jobs so far. None of the other methods did the job, although vinegar + water + bicarb of soda loosened things a bit. I guess it will be back to steel scourers and elbow grease . . .

Ok but what are the tricks for a single man with 2 cats who is a daily full time worker and have severe lack of motivation for cleaning? Is there somewhere a magic tool that prevent dust with very few work from me?
@ExpertHomeTipsАй бұрын
Maybe we could do a video on it! For now, try investing in some cleaning products or tools that make you excited to clean. Favourite scents or gimmicks can go a long way in building motivation. Otherwise, it's about setting time in your schedule and building habits. We love playing music or listening to a podcast and focusing on one task at a time.

Bought so this morning and it’s brought my sink up beautifully. Doesn’t leave a grittiness which is very hard to rinse off. This just wiped off so easily. I’ve bought a few of their products so waiting to test those yet. Especially keen to see how the stain spray does. I love that it all has almost no odour. So many cleaning products smell so bad and strong. It’s not cheap in Australia.

Cheapest method is to duct tape openings around windows so dust doesn't enter your home.
@ExpertHomeTipsАй бұрын
Does it blend in well?
@RohanKumar-zr3pjАй бұрын
@ExpertHomeTips No, it will not. One can use a painter's white or color tape to match or give the tape a coat of matching paint, which I did, and it worked.

So what’s everyone thought on using a window AC unit for more than half the year. I clean the filter out twice a month and I also have an air purifier but unfortunately I still find myself dusting at least once a week. Side note I do live in a finished off attic and with a thick carpet that I can’t remove. But I do have a NEW window Ac unit and I have a top of a line Air purifier, running 24/7 but doesn’t seem to be enough. Any ideas that could help?
@ExpertHomeTipsАй бұрын
You could try using a higher-efficiency filter in your AC unit, ensure it's well-sealed, and place your air purifier in a spot with better airflow. Regularly vacuum with a HEPA vacuum, deep clean the carpet, and manage humidity to prevent dust buildup.

and it's really safe for the environment? we are not chemists to understand what they used there to create this paste. If it's really safe to use - great then ).
@ExpertHomeTipsАй бұрын
It's considered environmentally friendly, as it’s advertised as non-toxic, biodegradable, and free from harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia. It’s still a good idea to use it in well-ventilated areas and check for any skin sensitivities, as it does contain surfactants and abrasives. I'd suggest checking out products with "Green Seal" or "EcoLogo" certifications.
