Gordon Kennedy used to have Sunday Lunch in the pub I worked at in Norfolk. Every time I saw him I wanted to mention our fine stony bridge. Never did.

When you look at some of the great comedies and satire such as Spitting Image, Absolutely, Little Britain etc, the fact they could not be made today really demonstrates how much we have become a censored society. We all thought that a return to the dirge of the past where mother-in-law jokes was the basis of stand-up comedy on TV, and sitcoms, was impossible but we have done that, the only difference now is the safe material targets have moved on.

I remember watching this at a friend's house when it was first broadcast, we were both laughing that hard we fell off the sofa and couldn't pick ourselves off the floor for about 2 minutes! It was Gordon Kennedy's pitch-perfect Bono impersonation that set us off. Brilliant times! :D
