Good video. I plan on purchasing this 40V Parkside Performance Hedge Trimmer later this week. I tend to use Husqvarna professional equipment for my bigger jobs. However, I find the Parkside equipment brilliant for the majority of work.

Have now used the Parkside 40 volt machine an have to say its been very impressive, must say again, use the larger 4amp batteries an yse the 2nd speed setting will do most cutting you need to do.

A very helpful video, thank you. I'm looking to get one for my small lawn. This scarifier seems to take a lot of work to push. A bit worrying that I see in the comments that your grass died? Maybe went too deep for first run?

I am into battery also. Thank you for the advice about the 4 amp.

I got one earlier this year, it's just fine for a small garden, 2 pairs of batteries is handy but unnecessary. Given the light weight, it doesn't need the handlebars, a simple trigger on the main stem and catch handle would have been easier to work with. Not having to pull and pull and pull the starting chord? Gotta love that.

I bought the same machine last year. Scarified in September, left the grass with no treatment whatsoever and come May my grass has never been thicker. It certainly does the job at a very reasonable price.
@TheProjectGuy1947 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and idea to do it in September, have plenty of lawn here to do a few more tests on. Thanks.

Tried it. Dinna work. Drill a 5/8" hole, 51mm from the back of the wheel, behind the silver strut, straight through the rubber and the aluminum. Access the spring that way.

I’ve got this model but off eBay. It’s pretty powerful but don’t rely on the collection box as it’s full within seconds. I treat my moss to kill it first as using this on live moss will spread the spores.

do a run ,and then miss one etc. this means you dont have to run over the moss you have pulled up.

If not done the area previously,I mow short, rake up, scaify, rake up, then iron sulphate, and re scaring a while after.Then use core remover,brush in sharp sand, and overseed.

Those collection have are pointless.Always full in no time. Have the Webb petrol machine,myself.
@johnhammond421410 ай бұрын
I've got one of these and it does a good job. Set it to level 3 first and go over it, then have a look and see if it needs level 2. If it does it will be easier than just doing level 2 straight away as you have already removed a lot of thatch and moss.
@TheProjectGuy19410 ай бұрын
Thanks John, have lots to do an will try your method on next go.

@John_Wood_10 ай бұрын
I generally spray with iron sulphate before. This turns the moss black and then a couple of days later rake by hand and fill the bin. I'd like to hire the proper petrol tool and do it right some day. But would need a trailer and builders bags to get rid of all the moss. I'm no expert, but probably best to over seed the part you have done so far and water it if required.
@TheProjectGuy19410 ай бұрын
Was looking it earlier and will probably over seed it to be safe
