I realized the use of those lines is to preserve the lines. I just snipped them and plugged with bolts and clamped down. The first bolt I tried on the return line leaked so I put a bigger one and it worked. I don't plan on using the front and will use the back only for the rest of the life of my truck. Unfortunately the starter went out today. If it's not one thing it's another. But I fixed the gas problem 😁

@@kayceejones8963 thank you, that's why their called FORD you know Fix Or Repair Daily. I had a 96 f150 xlt and replaced the whole back axle assembly and differential for the gear ring to go out and cause a catastrophic failure when I was driving. Got a 96 f250 now and doing they bypass on the front. Hope you don't have too much trouble after replacing your starter. Thanks for the reply

@@kayceejones8963 hey Kaycee ? im doing mine like yours ,what 2 gas lines do i plug up ? the 2 on the side wall on the drivers side under the bed that says fuel ?those 2 fuel lines?

@@venumx9521 depends which tank is leaking. Find the lines going to and from, one each, from the leaking tank along the rail. I realized this kit is to preserve the lines to use again in the future which I didn't want to do so I skipped using the kit and screwed big bolts into the cut lines. There's still pressure pushing gas so you'll have to clamp them real good to prevent leaks.

@@jyfinesse5967 yeah turned out it was a problem with the anti theft not the starter. And the statrer solenoid is attached to the starter and the solenoid is the thing you tap on to see get the car to start a few more times until you put a new starter in and prove that thats the problem. But actually i had a car a few months later that a wire coroded away that connected the starter an the solenoid so i was confused when i taped on it ane that didnt start it cause i was pretty sure that was the issue but because the wire went bad not the starter it self i was able to fix it when i put a new starter on.

@@jyfinesse5967 yea it blinks more then it usually does. I thought i noticed it blinking all weird one night before this but nothing happened it started up fine so i didnt think anything of it

I might have to do this myself, disconnect the rear tank. In a bind, just got the truck & could only afford to work on one tank for now, the front was in better shape & just patched it up nicely, got a new pump to drop in, now I just want to pull the rear tank since the tank itself needs replaced and run the truck with just the front tank strapped in . Couldn't pass it up, 96 f150 long bed, single cab 4.9 with 180,000mi, for only $200! Best part about it, it belonged to my dad from '09 until he passed away in 2013, so to me it's definitely a truck worth putting on the road! lil rusty under the bed but in tact & still safe. Red/white, paint still shines, interior is completely in tact & not cracked. It's sat from 2015 until I trailered it to my place, so aside the tank problems, it definitely needs fresh fluids & a full tune up. Nice score tho!! But yeah, hoping I can just pull out the rear tank & plug the lines Sorry that was a long tail-chase of a reply lol

...and 4 years later, its helping me after buying an old 1993 f150 with the big 4.9 5 speed dual tank setup in it.

Maybe grounds in the chassis/fenders/engine. The straps sometimes rot away.

@@airborne63 how might we go about testing these grounds & straps? Its been a while since I worked on cars.

Bad starter relay,bad starter,dead batter bad alternator literally one thing after another the lastest is a bad starter

jrcann jay I did the same thing but brazed the lines instead of sliding hose over them. I don't have any starting issues whatsoever. Works great
