I would not include station wagons in video's of beautiful classic cars, and never liked red interiors! But many 1959's cars were beautiful!

I have owned many 68-69’s back in the day, and three Cobra’s, one a SS drag car. The Red fastback in your video without trim rings is an under 2k mile original that I tried to buy for years. It is now in a decent private collection. Great Video and info!

In regards to the topic of cross bolted 406 motors... Yes... They received cross bolted mains on the #2, 3 and 4 in mid 1962. Only NASCAR motors received these blocks because the non cross bolted variants were having block deflection issues and main caps walking in their registers under extended high RPM NASCAR racing. None were ever produced and installed in a street car as it was a limited half year run to specifically support the Ford racing program in NASCAR.

I still have my red on red leather white GT stripes 1979 Dodge Magnum XEGT E58 Police engine I bought brand new in 79. T- Tops with the HD suspension and handling package GT stripes 321 gears POS trac. (Limited slip). The GT came standard with all the heavy duty front and rear sway bars and the 9-1/4 rear diff. It's still new, original paint,Garage kept and no winters all its Life. I have 25,000 miles on it now. It still has some flaws from the factory because like you said the quality back then was very poor. I'm glad I didn't have all the problems you encountered, that's very unfortunate. I still get it out once in a while in the summer to cruise, it really puts a smile on my face. 😊 It's nice to see you keeping it up and running, there's not many Magnums left that are rust free and still on the road.

Had one identical senior year in High in Tampa Bay. I had my 360 built by Hanhs High performance over 500 HP, 727 torque flight hydrostatic, Dana 60 rear end 373 gears. She would run the 1/4 mile over 120 Mph low 11s to high 10s. Sometimes I would run Sunoco 98 octane. Frank

So who's right? windscreen say's custom 300, you say just custom.
@IfThisCarCouldTalk11 күн бұрын
It's a common mistake. There are several subtle differences but the biggest is the side chrome. On the Custom 300 it goes from the front all the way to the back and on the Custom it starts behind the door and goes to the back like this car has. Check out these links - www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/Ford/1957_Ford/1957%20Ford%20Custom%20Brochure/image5.html - Custom www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/Ford/1957_Ford/1957%20Ford%20Custom%20Brochure/image3.html - Custom 300 Thanks for watching and asking this comment!

Isn’t that a 69-67 grill? I didn’t know Ford put that grill in a ‘70? Regardless, it’s a beautiful truck!
