@ yes, I had done so awhile back. Seeing videos on cars is great, but seeing the owners behind them and the passion they have for their vehicles (regardless of how collectible or valuable they might be) is even better.

Brings back old memoires. My first new car was a 76 Jade Green Aspen with the slant six and 4 speed overdrive manual transmision. My buddy had a sikver 77 Roadrunner with a 318 and foru speed manual. Lots of good times for an 18 year old.

That F body Mopar is super cool and very rare i love it!💯 I own a 1980 Aspen R/T in factory night watch blue paint now with a 1971 340-4 904 trans and suregrip 8 1/4 rear end and dual exhaust. It gets lots of attention when I drive it around! They sure are great to fix up like you like them to be! 🏁

I owned the exact same car. It was a Chattanooga, TN car. Drove it out to Las Vegas in 1997 and sold it shortly after moving there. It was very dependable but was the slowest V8 car I ever owned. It would run 12 second EIGHTH MILE times.

That's a happy 78 Road. I'm surprised with a/c it has crank windows. Is this car the e58 360 originally and did the nice owner keep the original engine? With that color sceme I'd be blasting Lightfoot's "Sundown" in it

The Volares/Aspens/RR's from this era are handsome little cars. My family had a Volare with 318 back in the day but it was unfortunately a bit of a lemon. That said, I'd love to find one with a fully desmogged 318 motor as a daily driver, but they are very few and far between.

@@IfThisCarCouldTalk I have a 1970 Charger 500 w/383 Magnum and my buddy has a 1971 Charger with a 340. We went to a Mopar Meet in Alberta nearly every summer, many years ago. We had a friend who also had a Charger but it was broke down one summer, so this friend drove with us one year in his Aspen instead. I suggested using Liquid Paper to write "Kiss my..." just in front of the "Aspen" logo on his trunk lid. He got a lot of comments about it! Memory lane...

A mopar guy had one at my local drag strip in 79, the 4bbl 360. He did some tuning with the thermoquad and ignition and it ran high 14s which was faster than any new TA or Z28 and right with my stock 69 SS396. I checked on buying one and with the 360 4bbl option it was crazy expensive and more than new TA or Z28. There was also a new Chrysler 300 with the same 360 4bbl that came out a few times and ran high 15s. This was all during the gas shortages of summer 79.

So I was trying to figure out why the stripes on the seats were upside down compared to the exterior stripes. Well, on the red painted cars they matched because the exterior stripes were flipped! That's quite an oddity. Also, 4 stripes exterior but only 3 stripes interior.

I’m a big fan of the Roadrunner, particularly the 68 and 69., But this ain’t it . GM still does this type of badging today, they will slap SS on anything, even if it’s sporting a 4 banger. But this seems like a decent car anyways.

These were a total joke. By the time this car came out, Groovy was in the history books as slang. I lived through it. Groovy was long gone by 1970. These cars were sold but turned into Sportsman Class dirt trackers. They weren't on the streets at all. Dealers pulled them from the lots because of lack of sales.

Jeez man, it is just a thumbnail. Stupid thing to get bothered about. It doesn't matter what happened to these cars back in the day. The entire point of this feature is Mark and his love for a car rarely seen, then and now. If you don't like something - then keep scrolling and leave your negative comments somewhere else.
