The only thing entry level about entry level jobs is the pay. Really they want someone with full experience, and pay them the lowest wage possible.

I think that while consumerism itself brings the inherent problems you discuss there is now a much greater issue of increasing poverty. When did it become normal for rich nations like the US and U.K. to have a large number of their citizens relying on food banks? These have proliferated here in the last ten years. Housing costs in the U.K. for even modest homes are incredibly high whether renting or buying, the idea that you could only spend 50% of your income on your “needs” is sadly far from reality. Many here are spending 5O% of their incomes just to cover their basic housing costs, while at the same time energy costs remain very high and people are unable to heat their homes adequately. I think it’s important in these types of discussion to be careful not to mix up the habits of mass consumption undertaken by those with incomes to sustain it and those who are working to simply makes ends meet and do not enjoy lifestyles around consumption. There maybe a truth where debt that has been accrued through consumption causes financial challenges but not all financial challenges people face are as a result of mass consumption but a failure of the market based systems that rely on mass consumption, the issues of supply and demand and the other constructs of a capitalist system that ultimately serve the interests of the very rich but do not serve the majority of the population.

I love this! Investing doesnt necessarily mean stocks. I relate to the containers... its a huge headache when you have containers with different shapes and sizes. Its also about all the little things in our lives that we often overlook.

I think that there are a few things that I do want but feel like I need. For example my body care routine is not going away or my basic makeup products but I do need to stop eating out. I’m trying to find a balance. I’m gonna make a list of things I constantly use.

Subscriptions are a HUGE scam. We used to have all the channels in the world nearly for free on your TV. Now you have to pay $15 dollars for all these different services. We're all being scammed on a daily basis from every single direction.. It's depressing, but also exhausting. Thank you for the video!

Renting something you only need once makes sense. But renting something for years or even the rest of your lifetime makes absolutely zero sense. Subscriptions only benefit corporations and their greed.

There is a difference between cheap and affordable/good value. Stuff in Temu is just low quality trash. AliExpress does have good quality stuff but it tends to be quite a lot more expensive. I wound that AliExpress has both good stuff and cheap trash.
@electrum43842 ай бұрын
I like the idea of shopping at thrift stores. Cheap, probably even better quality, and you can get some nice stuff too while feeling that rush! Great video!
@AhhhSukeSuke2 ай бұрын
😂 that's just plain silly.. have you actually bought sthing instead of jumping on the bandwagon to throw shade to Temu? Yes, purchased many items from Temu and they've always been practical... $22 temu wallet phone case. Vs a crap $70 samsung silicone case. $25 temu duvetcover, instead of a $50 one from IKEA.... $3 temu screencover for my garmin venu 3, garmin doesn't even have any product to protect their glass watch....
@DeadHorse6662 ай бұрын
A scam doesn't stop at taking your money and running. Even if you get a product, that product is seldom the same as the photo and description causing people to receive products that are not indicative to what the online store described. In this sense, temu is a major scam no matter what the price is. An example of this kind of scam everyone can agree with is when you buy a used item advertised as working and it doesn't work, you got the item but were still scammed because that item didn't hold up to what the seller described.
@AhhhSukeSuke2 ай бұрын
Bet you haven't bought anything, or, you buy things without looking at reviews... I've purchased about 40x over the years, and have only had 3x for quality/sizing issues. Yes. I'd rather spend $20 on a wallet phone case for my s22 ultra, rather than pay $80 for a Samsung silicone case that won't even protect my phone lol
