Hi- thanks so much for the video; great ideas. Could you provide brand and purchase information for the great orange zipper (double zipper) pouch? Looks like the tag says “soft,” but i couldn’t find it with just that information. Thanks!

4:14 La Rogativa is a famous bronze statue located in the Plazuela de la Rogativa on Caleta de las Monjas near La Puerta de San Juan. Rogativa is a Spanish word derived from the verb “rogar” meaning to plea or to supplicate. A Rogativa is a large procession of people making a plea to God for help. British troops, led by Sir Abercrombie, took control of the city by naval blockade on April 30, 1797. The desperate governor of San Juan ordered a “rogativa.” The women, led by the bishop, marched through the streets that night. They started at the Cathedral. They sang hymns, carried torches and bells, and prayed for their city’s deliverance. The British mistook the sights and sounds as evidence of the arrival of reinforcements. Considering themselves to be outnumbered, Abercrombie’s fleet abandoned the city promptly. There are four bronze statues commemorating this event in Plazuela de la Rogativa. This group of statues pays tribute to the efforts of the townspeople and their Bishop. Lindsay Daen of New Zealand completed the statue in 1971. It stands 12-feet high in front of an old sentry box and a beautiful view of San Juan Bay.

Love this! So relateable. You want to travel, but where and what to do? Thanks to your great videos, Vancouver is in the mix for fall 2025-along with Ghana, Togo and Benin. And I’ve got to get to Japan within the next couple of years. Lot of decisions to be made over the next few months. 😊

I also go through this same situation just as you faced as well. I have like three different people of me, just like in the video, to decide where to go, where to stay, and which places to hang out while travelling to such destination. It is definitely a fatigue moment, and I think and plan a plade to travel and to stay, but hey, it's good to have three of me hanging out with me to decide something, it gives good company. Btw, I love this video and very well put it together. I love it. Big thumps up 👍. You should do more of this with three characters, and it would be amazing. Check this page, the real sam alkhatib, as he does three different characters with various situations.

Wheeled backpacks are SOOO heavy -- 8-10lbs as opposed to 3-4lb backpacks and slightly heavier (4-6lbs) wheeled luggage.
@grrrltraveler21 күн бұрын
Wheeled packs can weigh more than a backpack bc you’re getting a 2-in-1 function. I find I like using the wheels more, but like having a backpack as a safety, for extreme conditions. My Hynes is approx 5 lbs I do carryon international so I seldom exceed 16 lbs fully packed.

Treviso is a charming city whose allure lies in the absence of tourism and tourists. It is captivating because it is authentic, belonging to its inhabitants who love and care for it. Unfortunately, the charm of a place is inversely proportional to the presence of tourists. I hope Treviso will be spared from the barbaric hordes for a long time to come.

This is at an off the beaten path restaurant and the more worst cases. The large cities are different. Nonetheless, know that squat toilets can be met especially on roadtrips and in older places.
@doc25902 ай бұрын
yeh, I cant do it, I cant squat to save my life, my ankles just don't bend and I am on my toes if I try to do it, so I cant balance on my toes and do a dump at the same time, and my jeans and undies, what do I do with them, they are above my knees to try and stop them from touching the wet floor and in so doing further prevent me from squating. any place with squat toilets means constipation for me.
@grrrltraveler2 ай бұрын
I’d recommend staying on the well touristed path and maybe even take a group tour for westerners. The latter will help you fjnd western friendly restrooms when you’re out and about. And if specifically ask about that in advance. But for countries with squat toilets be aware you may stumble upon them.
@doc25902 ай бұрын
@@grrrltraveler haha, I wasn't expecting a reply, so thank you. Yep, if I go overseas again I will be smarter. I went on an overnight cruise out of HongKong years ago, and the ship only had squat toilets, I had never seen it before, and I didn't know what to do. So yeah, constipation set in lol.

You are absolutely right on that and well said. ATM at the airport is the worst and impose hefty fees on foreign exchange. Even the forex counters at the airport should be avoided as well as such counters give the most pathetic exchange rate. I have noticed that there are many airports that are switching to forex machine type, which exchange foreign currency to local currency and give live exchange rate value on the display. What's your thoughts on foreign exchange machines?

I love the XE app. It is especially useful when I am going to be traveling to more than one country. Keeps me organized. Also updates to the best prevailing exchange rate. Still can’t believe the number of zeroes on some currency-100,000 rupiah is only about 6 USD!
