Love vids like this. I’m someone who relishes the in transit part - as long as you’re well organised. It’s like you enter another dimension, a separate bubble, and you can use that time to treat yourself, indulge a bit with nice moisturisers, good reading, music, snacks etc, all encapsulated within the minimalist perfection of your carry on kit. And then at the other end, you rejoin the space-time continuum, reborn into a whole new vista. That first inhale of foreign air as you step off the plane ☺️ mmmmm! Safe travels, beautiful you X Edit: I’ve been lusting after that folding bag too! It’d be perfect for return flight duty free souvenirs as well (hate faffing with airport DF bags!) Ok, if you approve, I’ll get it, via your link ofc!
@grrrltraveler Жыл бұрын
Exactly! You’ve explained it succinctly. It’s it’s own bubble and you can keep refining the experience bc between airport and planes it’s it’s own thing. My favorite tote is still the super thin and basic one bc it kept me from over shopping! Lmao. But that unzipped bottom is priceless - mine was well made and …inexpensive 😉

Hello Christine, Excellent video, thank you... I have just checked out the "Unbound" clothing and they sell it here in the UK which is great. A great tip I learnt the other day is to put a small elastic band on each of your charged camera batteries, then when rooting around in your camera bag it is easy to tell what ones are charges and those that are not. Take care. Paul,,

Great idea about teh rubber bands Paul! The other reason I love that mesh pouch is because it has a side zip pocket and I put my spent batteries there to keep them separate. But the rubber idea is a good one, as is gaffer tap. Unbound is one my smart multitasking pieces. I think they started mostly for male travelers. They're pricy but essentially, you just need one piece and can wear it everyday (I've done that with my travel dress)! I tried to cheap on it with Amazon brands but look and feel is different. Hope my new one comes in time.

Great video! I'm also a bag-within-a-bag person...bathroom bag, Covid bag, electronic bag, inflight bag, I want it organized and handy. I get it! I use a small crossbody bag; I like being hands-free plus it keeps anything of value/importance with me on a plane, biking, sightseeing, etc. I use a neck pouch to keep my passport, room key, one credit card, and half my cash. The other credit card and remaining cash go in my travel wallet in the crossbody. Should anyone grab/steal my crossbody or wallet, I don't lose everything. I just started down the merino wool rabbit hole. We're headed to Amsterdam in December, ending with a stay in Munich so this time I picked up some heavier merino items. Game changing. But what I need to check out are the Chlorophyll capsules. Thank you for that, always looking for a travel help!

I had an Ameribag, heathy back bag like the black one you showed, it was brilliant and I used it as my day to day bag, as well as my personal item bag for flights. It’s completely worn out now, but I’m definitely going to get a new one. The reason it’s good as an anti theft bag is that whether you wear it on you shoulder, or crossbody on your front or back, the zip to the main compartment is right up against your body.

You can work around *not having* a lot. Like I can workaround using the free earbuds vs noise cancelling headphones (which add bulk to my bag and i'll only use it on a plane). But there's these small points, where I don't want to have to work around and I can use for my travels too.

Very interesting video and well explained point by point. Personally, I've never experienced long-haul flights, I've only had one layover flight like Kuwait-Doha-Mumbai or Kuwait- Dubai- Mumbai and vice versa, and in Doha, my flight layover would be like three to four hours for my next flight. What I like to carry during flights are sweet drops like lemon or orange flavour as it's citrus, and it prevents flight sickness and I always love to get those flight wipes in packs, which are provided by cabin crew member and I would take some for home. Overall, this is a very informative video, and I really enjoyed your step by step explanations. Big thumbs up 👍.

My dream of going to Japan. Outside the Western Hemisphere, getting anywhere from Panama is a chore. I have to spend the night in Istanbul. I'm seeing some family in Europe, before I head to Osaka. Hawaii is not like going from the mainland for sure. I hope you are doing okay after that big fire over there. I'm saving extra room in my luggage for my nerd trinkets from Akihabara.

Great video and I use that eye on all my trips and it’s so much better then other masks I’ve used. I’ve started using AirTags since I’m seeing more stories of lost luggage.
@grrrltraveler Жыл бұрын
Yah, I even use those masks for normal days when my eyes are tired from computer work. Good to know about the air tags. I thought about them the other day at best buy, but airlines like Delta have luggage tracking. If you're trip insured, remember that you can essentially *claim* lost luggage and delays. ;)

Got dust allergie pills do you take? Suffer from same allergies.
@grrrltraveler Жыл бұрын
You too?! I bounce around with generic Costco or Sam’s club brands that have ingredients sim to Zyrtec and other allergy pills. I take one a day but it doesn’t completely stop the cough so I carry an abuterol inhaler to occasionally keep inflammation down … when I remember. It’s not only dust but sometimes it’s something foreign in the air that triggers it like cheap perfume or incense. Ai. It’s such a pain.

How many carry on bags do you actually take with you on the plane, especially if you can only take 7 kg
@grrrltraveler7 ай бұрын
Most airlines allow one carryon and a personal item. But I always take a fold up inflight bag that I open in flight then put away when I land.

Your audio has a problem.. You are using only one channel of the stereo, so I hear your voice from only one side.. I often listen from one side only so I found I couldn't hear you with my right ear. For many of talking head videos, you can just use mono.
