This guy doesnt have the slightest amount of steering control. Letting of the wheel every second and letting it bounce into center sounds terrible.

@@RCRoads overall it’s a fantastic car. A few weak spots that need to be dealt with but when it’s running i don’t think there is a better performing u4 rig on the market today. Check out the rest of my lasernut vids. Thank you for appreciating the slow-mo maxx footage!

@@rcmustsee437 For sure! I try to run my cars until something major breaks. I get worried about the diffs blowing out like everyone claims. So far I think 3s is probably the best choice. Very enjoyable RC to drive. When we make video's we want them to be all rad and exciting but then we push our rigs too hard and they break.

Which you think would be more efficient, 12T/33T or 13T/33T front overdrive?

Very nice setup. Thanks for filming the install as it helps me see how stuff fits together. Vitivon parts are the best. Kind of expensive for some but the parts you went with are really the most important. Anyways I'm just a Lasernut enthusiasts right now and just love mine even in stock form but slowly as it breaks I'll probably do some Vitivon upgrades. They even have some beadlocks rims designed for the U4 and they look tempting as well.

Bummer about the short axels. I'm ending up with lots of tires that don't fit any of my cars. It's food to know that the axels are short and it will be a problem. I have the same issue with the Redcat Everest 10. Short axels are a PITA. I might go with some 17mm adaptors and see if I can match up some tires that way. Proline Trenchers mount up ok on my lasernut but I'm looking for something taller like the stock ones.

They make the hyrax specifically for this truck. I have them and they rip. They will fit the stock wheels or vitavon has some a awesome beadlocks.

No. 500k center and i think 50 f/r. The beauty of the lasernut is the fact that you can adjust them- which is important for rock racing. Not the best for crawling off that’s your goal. I would build an independent front/ solid axle rear rig for more hardcore 4x4 action!

I just broke my Lasernut exactly the same way on a cold day. I noticed that the arm that broke makes contact with the corner of the servo at a full right turn. I'm gonna set the steering end points a degree or two short of full lock. I think the cold may have contributed to the plastic being more brittle. On a hot day it may have bent instead of snapping.
@rcmustsee437 Жыл бұрын
It’s a weak point in the steering, that’s for sure. The plastic part is just a bit too weak for what the truck and big tires demand, especially if you put a better servo in like i did. Thanks for watching!

Can the under-drive for the rear also fit the front axle? I'd like to under-drive front & rear both. Lower drive train ratio with slightly higher spur gear ratio would improve smoothness in my theory lol. Plus it would reduce stress on the transmission, drive shafts to the trans, motor, and esc.

When decending down a hill you got to be careful while having the upgrade you will have your rigs front end pulled over front right underneath you causing you to indo into a front flip. Also when side trailing it will hard cause the rig will want to pull to the side making it hard to keep a straight line. Overall pretty good upgrade

I know this is an older video, but for whoever watches this and is attempting this mod, there is an easier ay to deal with the steering linkage when removing the front part. Turn your wheels to the right or left (not sure which way, but you will see) then through th holes in the bottom of the chassis, you can get to the screw that attaches the linkage to the steering servo horn. Undo that srew and the linkage comes off easy when you remove the front bulkhead.
