Dubai is a very mesmerizing city indeed. In the past, it was peaceful and affordable to live there, but it’s a different story now. However, I have found the locals to be very reserved and snobby. They don’t usually mix with foreigners, especially women. Some, even tend to look down upon the South East Asians calling them miskeen or poor. As a nation blessed with wealth and bounty, you would expect them to be great full and formidable, unfortunately not the case. I hope the new generation is much more open minded in their mannerisms and demeanour, and not unjust and cruel towards their foreign employees.

Have you ever met an Emirati woman? They are educated, empowered and independent now. She was talking about the past which was the norm in South Asia also. They beautifully uphold their cultures and traditions along with modernity. Wearing western clothes doesn’t make you modern and educated
