When dealing with population, should i follow the standard rounding rules or is it always rounded up? Thank you very much
@JDS18542 ай бұрын
I’d follow standard rounding rules, but if in doubt about what your instructor wants, ask them.

18:13 Why u did not substitute the time of unconverted sugar in the rate equation?
@JDS1854 Жыл бұрын
Great question. If you go back to the 17 minute mark, it is explained that since dy/dt is k multiplied by y and since we know y from part a, you just need to multiply the answer to part a by the value of k that was found.

I also made a video about this theorem, I'm currently recording a very rigorous and very visual calculus course. I would recommend also watching my video called: "Visual Proof of The Heine-Borel Theorem and Compactness of [a,b]" In this course, I try to make an early introduction to ideas from topology

16:10 The question asks how much is left, so you should subtract 341.12 from 550.
@JDS18542 жыл бұрын
The function measures how much sugar remains, so there is no need to subtract.

Thank you for this practical demonstration. My question would be who does determine the arrangement of the candy? And, what criteria would be adopted for the arrangement?
@JDS18545 жыл бұрын
The arrangement of the candy is random, so it could lead to different outcomes depending on the original setup. Good question!

Practice the examples that were done in class and in your textbook. First, read through them to gain understanding, then set them aside, and do them on your own. The algebra can get in the way, but always look for a way to factor something out. Good luck!

Professor JDS1854: I have found your videos on permutation groups and the converse of Lagrange's Theorem to be very enlightening. As a teacher of basic math, I am learning group theory on my own, and I have benefited greatly from your videos. I am not clear on the Alternating Group A4 (a subgroup of S4). Can you kindly produce a video on this topic with lots of examples as most students learn best by concrete examples? Many thanks in advance: You are a very good communicator of higher math! P.S.: The word "permutation" was misspelled in your title. Will it be indicative to change the title to Permutation Groups? For a few seconds, the audio was out in a few instances probably due to software problems during the uploading or encryption process. > Benny in Calif. 1-13-2015
