The pipe stand is very similar to how the under-hoist pipe jacks that are used in auto repair shops. You forgot to include the 12 ton jack stands, which are much beefier than the 6 ton versions and for some people, might be a good middle ground between the 6-ton and pipe stand jack

Thank you for the video. Been holding onto my wrench for over a decade in case I could fix it. Excellent information . . . could not have fixed it without your help. For those of you who might be experiencing difficulties reassembling due to the plastic retainer, here's how I was able to do get it in place: Loosen the calibration nut and unscrew the threaded stud out until it stops. This keeps the spring out of the way whilst trying to angle it in to place. Push the retainer down into the body of the wrench, keeping the detent knob aligned with the detent hole in the body. This next step I used a 9/16 deep socket on a long extension to push the retainer into place. Finally install wrench head into the body while keeping the aligned with the groove/tang in the receiver piece. If it is in place the detent knob will be in the hole in the body of the wrench. All that is left is to reinsert the retainer pin and clip.

@OffRoadEndeavor4 ай бұрын
Not being there, it is hard to diagnose. There is a little bit of adjustment in the part when you put it on. (See 2:37 in the video) It may be possible it isn't shifting completely into park because the part is holding the shift cable out just a bit from being in park. You may need to adjust the part to get a little more pull on the shifter cable. Take the part off, make sure the transmission gear selector is rotated completely into park. Make sure the driver's gear selector is fully in park. Then try reinstalling the part. I hope it is as simple as that for you.

The actual torque is the moment of force acting at the wrench handle plus the moment of force of the wrench's weight acting at its center of mass. You can balance the wrench on a straight edge and measure the distance of that point from the pivot point; that is the center of mass distance. The sum of these torques is what your wrench should be indicating.
@josephtussey76997 ай бұрын
Sweet excursion and great detailed install video!! I have a question, roughly how much larger of a tire was you able to fit after you installed the cut outs?? I have and building 1996 F-150 And I’m looking at going with a set of cutouts along with a 6inch and maybe a body lift to run 39.5-18-15 tires. Thanks
@OffRoadEndeavor7 ай бұрын
My first Excursion I fit 39.5" with no lift, just the cut-outs. This Excursion I fit 42" tire with 6" lift. I don't know what you'll be able to fit on a F150 as it's a different platform.

@ Off Road Endeavor, where did you buy your high steer knuckle? Do you feel like it was worth it or was the hydro-assist a more important modification to control wander, if any?
@OffRoadEndeavor7 ай бұрын
www.offroadunlimited.com/product/195487/1999-2004-ford-super-duty-knuckle-only. Neither the knuckle or hydro assist help with the wander. Wander is controlled by a good alignment using enough caster and toe-in. This wheel package has spacers and a wide offset wheel so getting a good alignment is important. The knuckle helped more when I was at 14" lift to help with the drag link angle. The flatter you can get your drag link the better. If you have a steep drag link, when you hit a bump, you can get bump steer, which you may be referring to as wander. But with stiff 14" lift springs, there wasn't much spring travel. It is desirable to have a low angle drag link to reduce angles on the joints and reduce bump steer. The hydro assist was critical with this tire package. The wheels weigh a couple hundred pounds and have a huge offset. This puts the tire contact patch way out from the original tire scrub point, making the scrub radius greater. Scrub radius means to turn, instead of the tire spinning around the center of the tire, it travels in an arc away from the center pivot point of the ball joints, thus scrubbing along the ground as it pivots along the arc to turn. This blew all the steering joints and steering box from extra effort. The hydro assist adds a hydraulic ram directly to the axle and tie rod to provide greater assist and take pressure off the steering box. Before, I had to be rolling to turn the wheel, while still using heavy arm input. Now I can turn the wheel sitting still with one finger. I hope that helps.

How will it look if you can't get those tires again? Never cut your truck or car. Structural integrity. Not a good idea in any situation. Cut your truck to install after market plastic parts? Out of your mind.
@MrMoser188 ай бұрын
You have no idea what you’re talking about. The tires will always be available. Cut out fender flares have been around for decades. He hasn’t affected any structural integrity. It’s not like the truck is going to fall apart from that little bit of fender trimming. He hasn’t done anything that many haven’t done before. He did a nice job with it as he too has done it before.
