Sir, the silver trumpet if brigther, no doubt and more expressive. The Lacquer trumpet is more "neutral" en rounded sound. Unfortunately I have the lacquer trumpet, still sounds very well, but not tike the silver ones. Mr. HornTrader, I hope this helps you.
@HornTraderАй бұрын
I'm sort of leaning towards the lacquer finish. Both sound great and you'd need the ears of a bat to determine the difference. Thanks for your input. Stay tune to the HornTrader!

@@HornTrader Not really. Definitely the silver has a brighter sound and to my like, more expressive. But I think it is a personal choice. And yes, there is a difference.

I saw a horn just like this for sale on eBay and I was tempted to spend the money on it. I ended up veering away from it because I learned about the B2 having more resistance than some of the other horns in the line. And resistance is something that I've found. I don't really work well with. I tend to prefer horns that are very easy playing and open blowing with minimal resistance.

I bought another set of HT mouthpieces from a local guy who was selling them. I already had the set I bought from you, but it gave me a "safety spare". Anyway, I took the HT3 cornet one and opened it up to #24. Done properly, no sharp edges or cylindrical section. It works really nicely making my cornet resistance closer to my trumpet. Different response too. Great mouthpieces.

Please educate me, Steve.(I am a Tuba player & vintage brass lover. I've seen tons of vintage trumpets that don't have 1st value slide ring, but that one doesn't have 1st or 3rd. What was the logic behind that & when did they start putting 1st value slide rings as standard?
@HornTrader3 ай бұрын
Trumpets are not perfect (Duh) We need all the help we can get. I think this horn originally had a 3rd finger ring, but as I mentioned in the video the former owner played the horn with his left hand and guitar with his right ( and sang ) He was a solo act and traveled around the country in the 1970's
