Hi, Thanks for the video. It sounds a little bit drippy to my ears. Do you think it has enough drip for playing sirf music? Do you prefer it over the DigiTech Digiverb? Best

Absolutely not the best choice for surf, and don't even look at the Digitech Digiverb, it's the worst spring verb pedal I've ever played. Now days there are far better options for the 6G15 surf sound. A few that get far closer. EHX Oceans 11, Source Audio True Spring, Source Audio Ventris, UA Golden Reverberator. I've demo'd all of thse on my channel I believe. If you want the outboard tank sound but don't care about the drip, Catalinbread Topanga is decent. Boss FRV-1 is stiff sounding, but has better drip than this pedal. If you want the real thing you can go for a SurfyBear in any iteration, I recommend the SurfyBear Metal.

@@TriPedalReviews thanks a lot for your suggestions. I am looking for something cheap. My amp is a Fender Mustang GT40 so I should not spend more on the pedal than on the amp. This is why I thought about Holy Grail. Thanks again

Thank you for the comprehensive overview. I do not own the pedal, but just bought a 3rd Gen Katana, which has the effect. Just not sure if it has the full functionality of the pedals. Will have to compare.

6:40 at about 6:40 when you're messing with the spacing knob on the Volante there's a quite nice pitch shift effect. I don't even know if it's intentional but I like it. Are there any pedals that can produce a similar sound?
@TriPedalReviews
@TriPedalReviews 10 күн бұрын
Any delay will change the pitch if you have sound actively going through it while you modify anything with delay time. That's essentially what that was doing, since I only had one head engaged at that point in the video. I think in this particular instance, what probably makes it good is that it's on the verge of self oscillation but not running away with it. Echorec style pedals are usually fairly good at that since they do nice washes, but not many delay pedals are good at it in the overall scheme of things. I might test this out with my other Echorec pedals and get back to you. I can't think of many outside of those styles that would be good at it.

I wont be of much use there as I don't own the MD-200. The MD-500 has its own editor so the info in this video isn't really needed for that pedal, not sure if Boss's editor works with the MD-200 or not.

ok, last post was 10 months ago but I want to rant about the tonex pedal software. what is wrong with this company? I updated to the latest firmware so I could use the new added effects but now the editor no longer works and when I try to use the EQ that was in the pedal the update made it so I cannot access it. I can only get a list of all the effects that do not work instead. I now am worse off. the tonex sounds great and this is not the first run in with their software. I now just want to roll it back so at least my pedal works like before. I have completely lost interest in any of their new added effects out of sheer frustration. I dont even care about them anymore. I just want my pedal as it was and have my editor work again and leave well enough alone. I want nothing to do with anymore of their "updates"

I can't tell how many stages maybe it's 4 stage? It has a sound like the gilamondo which is 8 stage and has that feedback control where this has the wet dry blend on the middle knob. Seems like a winner!

What is your favourite dual delay? This one? Also, I want to use the raster 2 as a pitch-shifter. How do you like it as a pitch shifter compared to the standalone ones (i.e. pitchfork, whammy)?
@TriPedalReviews
@TriPedalReviews Ай бұрын
This is probably up there with my favorites. I'd say this or the Emma Navigator. This pedal doesn't do polyphonic pitch shifting, so if you want to do the glitchy whammy bends with an expression pedal, it'll do that fine, but for pristine shifting up or down at various steps, probably not the best option. You'd also have to dial it in by ear.

Source Audio currently builds the most accurate Spring Reverb outside of the real thing,( which also has a full Trem built in), - the True Spring ,- and the Vertigo also covers a lot of ground .Because they are digital, and at a higher price point( as they should be, considering quality and components) ,they don't get the attention they deserve.But you can't go wrong with any of their designs, which can be programmed to cover individualized multi effects in one. Any and all parameters can be adjusted with the Neuro App, - which is great with effects like Trem, which clearly can differ greatly, circuit to circuit.

Which one do you prefer the tone of overall? This or the subdecay vagabond's?
@TriPedalReviews
@TriPedalReviews Ай бұрын
ST is very simple. You get trem with no variation aside from depth and the choice of Volume or Harmonic trem. Vagabond has some shape morphing, envelope control, and you can adjust the volume. Tone on both is great. I'd go Vagabond personally due to the volume control. See my reply here for more details: www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/subdecay-vagabond-vs-surfy-trem.2599481/
