So the expression pedal allows you to have only the pre-amp on in the Heel Cocked position?

Not sure what you mean here as this isn't a preamp pedal. Expression lets you control the speed or you can manually sweep the modulation. If controlling speed heel down is the slowest speed, if manually controlling the sweep it is the lowest portion of the sweep.

@@TriPedalReviews When the original Uni-Vibe's expression pedal was in the heel cocked position, the Vibe effect was off but the Uni-Vibe's preamp was on (so technically the pre-amp was always on). This made for a smooth transition into the vibe effect. What I'm asking is if when using an expression pedal with this SolidGoldFX pedal, does the vibe/phaser effect function like an original vibe? Is the phaser off when the EXP pedal is in a cocked heel position and does it turn on smoothly without a major colouring to the effect and any noticeable volume changes like the original Uni-Vibe did?

@@abelwritesmusic Gotcha, nope. It behaves how I described it previously. Vibe effect is always active when the pedal is engaged regardless of whether you have an expression pedal plugged in or not, and regardless of the position of the treadle.
