I loved this movie when I seen it in late 80s or early 90s.

It's sad that he drank one too many and went woke.

Mickey made a bad choice with the body language though. This stooped, simian pose, with the jaw thrust forward, undercuts much of the performance. Pity.

Classic, when mickey rourke was king,, and a throwback to when bars and pubs were full of characters,, those days are gone sadly. And all the people who say they don't like this film, you were never proper drinkers

Me, audiobook, but many years later, I don't compare them, some similarities, but enjoyed them both
Brilliant movie. First saw it back in 1988. Loved it then and still love it.

He was on to some pretty heavy philosophy on the work situation. You eliminate all the jobs you don’t want to do,and what’s left is the truth.

Regardless that I don't drink, this film is truly visual poetry from a time when Hollywood still made art and not dress up parties for talentless Nepo Babies.

Mickey Rourke's constant Snagglepuss imitation is the highlight of this film, and , perhaps, its only saving grace.
