Can you use cricut mats in the cameo 5?

Which machine cut fabric better? I have a maker that is no longer recognizing the quick swap tools. Therefore, I’m looking into buying a new machine. I don’t live in the warranty zone so I’m not worrying about customer service so much. Both software is difficult to understand especially silhouette. I want my machine mainly to cut faux leather for bags. Which one would you recommend?

I worked in the Prepress industry and we used machines like this. You're getting lines like this because of how you're securing your sub-straight. The acrylic you used is bring held by 4 pieces of tape. There's too much wiggle room for the acrylic to move. Place the tape so it acts as a stop on all sides. If you can wiggle it with your fingers you can bet that tip will too. I hope this helps.

Hello, by the way, there is an easier way. I tried it and it worked. If you like you can make another video and try my method. I just opened one color at a time and put the empty ink bottle on it. And flipped the printer over the sink, just in case. It worked perfectly and all the ink went back into the bottle. I repeated that for all the colors. Then I just let the small amount of ink that was left in the printer drain into a container in the sink. It worked out fine. I used acetone to get some small splashes off. But I think my only mistake is I should have tapes the lids of the colo compartments on the printer open. That way no splashes of ink. Also, tape the scanner lid and the paper tray so they won't break or cause any trouble. Good luck 😊

Great video, very helpful. I’m seriously thinking of changing from a Cricut Maker 3 to the Cameo 5 +. I’ve worked with Illustrator as a designer for over 30 years, so I prefer to have more software control over what and how I create. Also, we have a very good internet connection in the city, but we will be moving to the countryside next year, and it won’t be as reliable. I would still like to create if I lose the internet connection.

I have been looking into buying one of the machines for about a year now, i’ve watched many many videos. Your video is by far the best at everything, you explained everything a beginner without any idea about either machine needs to know. You just gained a supporter and a subscriber. I’m gonna go look into more of your videos to finalise my decision. But i’m leaning into the cricut more as a beginner and maybe i’ll treat myself to the cameo later on when I get the hang of them. Please I have an Epson L1800 that I have been using for sublimation printing but I want to change to dtf ink, my concern is what would happen to the white ink if I drain the light cyan and light magenta then replace them with white ink. Would the residues of those inks not affect the white ink? I will be glad to have your opinion on this as soon as possible. Thanks once again.

I bought the Silhouette Cameo 5 - the roller broke in the first week, amazon replaced it no problem - That was in January of 2024, it is now December 2024 and guess what - it broke again. They do not sale replacement parts for this problem and I have learned to research that this is an on going problem. I have also had issues with the software and updates. I use this machine and software for my business. I don't have the money or time to keep replacing this machine. I am seriously thinking about getting a Cricut Maker 3.

The most important function I am looking at is to cut fabric for appliqué for my embroidery. Which would you recommend? I watched another comparison of all cutters and the Cricut was the only one that cut intricate designs well.

When I print on sublimation paper, my design is red. But when I sublimate, the ornament is a reddish orange. It’s a very different shade. Any thoughts on what is happening or how to fix this?

I filled my black Epsom 2720 with blue, so i sucked all of it out and added black to the tank. but now the black will not print at all. Any help would be helpful. 11/30/24

If you going to put your design under the ornament to press it does need longer time otherwise it will come out dull I just press mine one side at a time
