I still use one of these, or at least I did until the pump seized and of course took the belt with it. I paid $20 for about 10 years ago so I can't complain and it should be a fairly simple repair.

Think the reason why those suds showed up in the rinse is because the direct drives for whatever reason don’t do a spray rinse on the first spin which doesn’t help rinse away detergent and knock down suds. With my Whirlpool belt drive washer from 1963, the rinse water at times would be crystal clear at times. Crazy as this sounds, may only be the only one in my age demographic who has experience with the older belt drives as opposed to the direct drives.

This is a real washer! I can use fabric softener if I want! Nobody can tell me not to! It doesn't hurt the machine! If it did, why is there a dispenser for it?

The noise under the agitator cap. The Agor Dogs Are Pretty Much Wore Out. Not replacing them can damage the agitator by wearing down the little grooves from the dogs grinding them away.
