Amazing! Mine is exactly 83". What is your ceiling height?

I moved but I think that ceiling was 110”. With my z all the way up I had a few inches to spare.

I moved earlier this year but I think it was around 110”. I had just a few inches to spare with z all the way up. Side note, you can also use the leveling feet to maybe cheat another inch because they are pretty long.

That didn’t seem too bad. Did all you have to do is remove the cable carrier? I’m wanting to get a TM-0P and the has dealer is telling me it won’t fit through my 83” opening. After seeing this video I’m thinking it will go.

Yes, but the dimensioned changed across the trim piece because it was warped. I just moved and getting the machine out by myself was a challenge because I didn’t have a forklift. I used machine skates that were too tall so I had to remove the skates and do it the old fashion way on steel pipes about 1 1/8” od and a Burke bar which works really well.

I saw that, they look awesome! And the coolant tank is not built into the base like mine. The coolant tank on my mini is so silly, it looks fixed on the new units.

When you say you recommend purchasing rigid tapping? Is that only unlocked software? Or is it a hardware thing? I really hope its not an up sale on some software unlock. That would be stupid....
@claymanufacturing
@claymanufacturing 25 күн бұрын
It’s to unlock the software, very very stupid in my opinion. Good news is, they might negotiate on the price with it since it’s only software.
@claymanufacturing
@claymanufacturing 25 күн бұрын
Also, maybe it’s standard now? On the bigger models rigid tapping is standard (as it should be).

Good question, it’s been a while so I’ll tell you what I think I remember (also I don’t think the tms were as good as they are now)I believe the base spindle speed was faster on the mini (6k vs 4k), I liked the way lube better on mini and the ways are protected better, and I think the mini weighed more. Anyways, I’ve seen the new mini has changed a lot, they look sweet. Tool rooms also look sweet.

12:35 machine z is -5.4222 that how much you moved from home z. your G54 should be -5.4222-tool leght. your tool is 3 inch by eye. so G54 should be -8.4222 NOT +5.something lol., did you allready got it? same as x and y you get machine coordinate why not use machine coordinate on z too LOL

10:37 that is so incorrect. it should read -distance from z home(what comes from maxium -z travel + that 5.492). and your tools lenght shoud read +tool height and actually correct lenght LOL not - something

Great starter list! I’ve got 11K M30s on my home MM2 so far, machine is working great 6 years in. Depending on what you make, a Saunders Machine Works fixture plate and mod-vise system could be a good investment; it turned my MM2 into a brand new machine letting me use the entire extent of the travels. Most of the parts I make are flat plates for high school robotics teams, so it really helps with my workflow. For coolant, be sure to get a deionizer if your water is hard, and a refractometer to keep tabs on the concentration. Over time as you reconstitute your coolant the mineral content will increase if you use water straight from the tap. Happy chip making!

Where are you getting your feeds and speeds from? Do you just remember from experience?
@claymanufacturing
@claymanufacturing Жыл бұрын
I look up the chip load for the cutter from the manufacturer. For most of the tools I use, they are Haas and they provide really good cutter data. The most important factor is the IPT with end mills. I typically start on the low end range when figuring out my speeds and feeds
