I kept wondering how many times they had to do this in rehearsal without breaking out in laughter. They are to this day unmatched for sketch comedy. 😄

Once upon a time, comic geniuses created sketches like this, at the risk of making themselves look like juvenile imbeciles--and pulling it off with style. Incredible.

Sid, you don't need to worry about the money. You see there's about $350,000 buried under a big W in Santa rosita.

Born Emogeane Coca[4] in Philadelphia, Coca was the daughter of José Fernandez de Coca, a violinist and vaudeville orchestra conductor and Sadie Brady, a dancer and magician's assistant. Coca's father was of Spanish descent (the family surname was originally Fernández y Coca), the son of Joseph F. Coca, Sr. and his wife, Laura. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imogene_Coca Caesar was the youngest of three sons; his family was Jewish.[3] He was born in Yonkers, New York.[4][5] His father was Max Ziser (1874-1946) and his mother was Ida (née Raphael) (1887-1975). They likely were from Dąbrowa Tarnowska, Poland.[6] Reports state that the surname "Caesar" was given to Max, as a child, by an immigration official at Ellis Island.[7][8][9] According to Marian L. Smith, senior historian of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, there is no known case of a name changed at Ellis Island. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sid_Caesar

You know... it's easy to assume a 1950s sketch comedy show would be corny and full of schtick, delivered by cheesy hacks, but this is genuinely funny satire with great actors.

It's quite awe inspiring how meek Sid Caesar could play in this one when in reality he could've tossed the 2 interlopers out of the cinema with a couple flicks of his powerful fingers. The man was a physical goliath with the brain of a creative, comedic, genious and the heart of a true humanitarium. A remarkable, visionary genius with no limits on his talent, who harboured terrible demons and addictions that haunted his post Television life. In this case, the higher he flew the harder he fell. But he found redemption as he got older and confronted his demons and wrote extensively about them in two soul baring auto biographies. The man was a national treasure, like Buster Keaton before him, who similarily lost his way and drifted in to bitterness and booze.

I don't know how Carl Reiner was able to keep it together with this lunatic standing next to him. It looked like he was ready to start laughing a couple of times but mostly he did very well.

And just as people are appointed to die once, and then to face judgment, Hebrews 9:27 NET But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God’s wrath remains on him. John 3:36 NET Do not be deceived. God will not be made a fool. For a person will reap what he sows, Galatians 6:7 NET For if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins is left for us, Hebrews 10:26 NET Enter through the narrow gate, because the gate is wide and the way is spacious that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. How narrow is the gate and difficult the way that leads to life, and there are few who find it!
