My grandfather was Henry Callaghan, he was a member of F company 4th battalion IRA. Himself and his comrades took part in breaking Ernie o malley, Simon Donnelly, and Frank Teeling from kilmainham Gaol. Although I have all military documents and sworn statements from my grandfather and witnesses who were present at this event and many others it appears that his part in the war of independence and the civil war Don't Matter. I emailed Cormac asking if he had any documents related to my grandfather. No reply. For the record Cormac you only exist because of my grandfather and his comrades

Yes! I remember Sr. Anastasia. And I remember trying so hard to get through 3 minutes without "uh" and "um." Three minutes was a long time :)

Very interesting interview. I didn't know of Cormac or Ernie O'Malley until I read an article this morning in the online Mayo News. Cormac spoke of his father's work, On Another Man's Wound, at the Wild Atlantic Words Literary Festival recently. Here is the URL to that article: www.mayonews.ie/comment-opinion/second-reading/30950-rereading-on-another-man-s-wound Both the interview and the article sparked my interest in tracking down these books to read. My one grandfather was born in County Mayo and his mother was an O'Malley. I have particular interest in the book of interviews of Mayo men. Thanks for the video.

Thank you, Thomas, for taking the time to write. I'm glad you enjoyed the interview. A friend, Ed Patterson, producer of Connecticut's first Irish Film Festival, introduced me to Cormac. Like you, I found Cormac engaging and informative and, like you, things he said sparked interest in my own Celtic heritage. Thanks for the link to the article. I'll read it this evening.

Fairly Certain and Fairly Safe are the first two books in A Love of Fairs, the new series for the "new adult" market. CT author Deborah Davis joined me on Page 1 to talk about the magical runes, the curse, and the Gypsy kissing booth that appear in each book.

I can not count the times I have looked at a blank piece of paper and was afraid to ACT because.. What IF I messed it up? What IF I made a mistake? What IF it was not good enough? Where to even start? So I would leave the page blank, and not start at all. It would be no exaggeration then to say that this book ~ Where Does Art Come From ~ has changed the way I now approach art , and in fact my whole life. With his inspiring words and practical suggestions Bill Kluba gives us permission here to create from a place of non-judgment. I see now that I fail ONLY when I don't give myself permission to explore. From chapter to chapter I feel the author right there with me, guiding me with his infectious " I Can" enthusiasm and urging me on, to be at once courageous and gentle with myself. This is then a great gift to both future artists and to the world at large. The whole idea that Art is far more than just oil on a canvas... that we can express ourselves through so many different mediums ... is just one way which this book has expanded my horizons. Self expression through Art is a gift we give ourselves. ~ Where Does Art Come From ~ I know will continue to help me dissolve all these false barriers which rob me of the joy of creativity, which I have for far too long allowed myself to buy into. This is one of those books which will not just sit on the shelf once read but will be something I will refer to again and again. Many Thanks

Thanks, Faith, for taking the time to comment and for expressing so candidly what I know many of us often feel, myself included. Perhaps it's precisely because we know just how powerful art is that we can be intimidated by the act of creating. What I like so much about Bill's book is that he not only affirms the act of creating, he gives readers practical steps to take to discover, nurture, and express the creativity in all of us.

Hi Barbara, We'll review this when we tape part 4, but so you get the answers you need: IT'S POSITIVE. This is why we have support groups - and it's so important, there are online forums too. How one presents it may sound whiny (hope not), but caregivers survive through opportunity to vent/ support from others. Problem is when positive interventions are offered but not followed up: tune in to part 4 for the discussion about that. Email me for more info anytime ~Pam
