What’s that flag/light? Is it NRS as well? Need to get one of those, and that one looks pretty slick. My brother used to run one of the fixed blade knifes when he did white water kayaking. The flat tip is so you can jamb it against yourself and cut things close to you without worrying about stabbing yourself.

Looks awesome! They make these cool crimps that you hit with heat gun afterward and it heatshrinks and melts a sealant at the ends. They are great for sealing out water. I used them on my trailer wiring and on my Jeep.

Look up some videos on the rigging bullets from yak attack and diy versions of them. A nut and string will pull the backing plates into position. For the pulleys, they go horizontally. Closed end toward bow and stern, pulley towards the middle. Will fit in the middle of that side wall.

Instead of clipping to that D ring directly, I’ve read that it is better to run a line from the anchor, or floating anchor buoy, through the D ring, and secure it to the kayak within reach using a highwayman’s hitch knot. This knot provides for a quick release, much faster than you could pull the D ring back to you and then release. Sometimes you don’t have extra seconds to waste. You can still use the anchor trolley the same way as normal. The line will leave the kayak and go to the anchor still the same, and the D ring position controls where that point is on the kayak. If you need to disconnect in a hurry, simply pull the knot and it falls out and the line goes through the D ring and you’re free. The anchor buoy will float and keep the line up so you can retrieve it afterwards. Also, silicone isn’t going to work well to seal holes. Kayaks are made of polyethylene and almost nothing sticks to it permanently. You might try Lexel (another caulk). That stuff sticks to everything, I haven’t tried it on kayaks though). It even sticks to wet surfaces.
@wolf_of_walmart7 ай бұрын
It’s crazy you said that! I just used lexel on my latest build! And thanks for the knot idea dude.
@RamonOutdoors7 ай бұрын
I have a quick release right on my chair that connects to my anchor incase I need to quickly get free. Safest way to do a quick disconnect.

@piesquared10257 ай бұрын
I forgot to mention I went with a lift and lock. Meaning the lock is right at the pulley. This will leave you options to take up the loose rope. The reason in went with 2 is wind and kayak placement.

Plano 3650 is a good one, although I like the older style of it better than the newer one. Older one was just a rectangle, the new one has large external hinges at the cost of loss of internal space. Still, with either one you can remove dividers on one side and create a bulk storage area for larger baits, or for storing awkward shaped baits like spinnerbaits. Sometimes the older style can be found cheap with a 3600 bag and you can get 4 of them. Use the boxes on the kayak and use the tackle bag for something else (boat bag for essential like weather radio, sunblock, first aid kit, etc.). I use a 3600 bag just for plastics and terminal tackle. Also the Plano 3630, it is a deep storage box. It makes excellent storage for spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, bait jars, and other larger items. The back two slots have dividers while front slot is just one long slot with no dividers, but I glued one in using Loctite glue for plastics to divide up that slot as well. Loctite for plastics works on polypropylene boxes. Quite possibly would work on polyethylene kayak hulls as well. The Plano 3601 is a thin box, excellent for small crankbaits and jerkbaits, topwaters, any kind of bait that doesn’t need deeper slots. This is a space saver box and you can fit three of them in the same depth as two normal 3600 boxes. 3620 is a standard size box with slots situated horizontally. 3600 is the same box but the slots run front to back instead. This makes more of a difference depending on if the boxes are stored flat or up on edge, and which edge that is. I love my “3600” boxes (the 3600 series size in general, not especially the 3600 model within that series. For that I prefer the 3620). I moved from 3700 sized boxes to the 3600 size years ago. Smaller size means less chance of spills while open, but still large enough to hold a lot of baits. Also more easily stored in tight spaces, and compact enough to haul around on your shoulder in a bag but still carry a lot in them. It’s the best size Plano makes. I supplement them with a few 3500 and 3400 boxes as needed. None of these are water tight. I don’t have issues when caught in the rain, but I have gotten water in them before when boat wake has crashed over my bow. It is what it is.

Fits perfect in the hole, wrap over, and pull the ball across the hook side. I was gonna do another video. Kinda showing how it all works now that I’ve ran em a bit.
