Laura you're so organized. A woman's work is never done but you got a method and it works. The kids look like they enjoy their excursion out, and you give them treats, so what could be better? 😊❤

Nothing better than home grown, the taste, aroma❤ I grow mine in 7 gallon buckets. My worst harvest has been fae posh seed potatoes. Sprouted shop bought potatoes. My favorite is Epicures, a popular strain of earlies in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I will save in the freezer leftover veggies, roast chicken carcasses, ham & beef bones to make stews or soup. I grew up in the country. Although no longer there, I still remember some of the old ways.

I did the same and got 5 LITERAL pebble sized potatoes. I was so so sad bc the plant grew huge and lush before it died and was ready for harvest. I was so confident I'd get a bunch of big beauties bc as a kid my father and I did the same and got 5 lbs of large ones!

The growing conditions were probably more to blame for that then the potato’s you used for seed. Every year I have a bag of Po that were bought at the grocery store then get left in the cupboard so long and forgotten about that they start to grow so I save them and plant them in the spring every year, and every year I get a good harvest we even pluck out some when they are just “new” potatoes as we like smaller potatoes better in my house
@lili2k

@@miekaandkadoe7042 Yes, it could be because the supermarket potato yield I got with my Dad was in northern NJ near NYC, and this one was in TN where I moved last year. The humidity and heat here is more intense. Then again, I started the two super sprouted supermarket potatoes in February when it was still cool, and harvested in June when the plant completely died.

Why would you ever cut out the eyes.. the eyes of the potatoes is where the new potato plant grows from if it's nor there the potatoes won't grow
@TealHouseFarm

Some channels promote cutting large non-seed potatoes into quarters instead of planting the whole thing. I do not agree.

Hello from Central Florida. This is our first introduction to your family and your channel. We subscribed and hope to visit often. We are just getting ready to plant fall crops after the extreme heat of the summer. It seems strange to see families harvesting this time of year when we are just tilling beds!

When you plant potatoes never ever ever cut the eyes out, put the eyes side down and the dirt cover it and it’ll grow and do its thing if it flowers do you learn how to save the seeds you can reproduce the same potatoes year after year Congrats on the HARVEST excellent job

That’s a whole lot cheaper than loading everyone up getting in your vehicle spending the gas to drive to a restaurant and buy a cheap meal for everybody which isn’t really cheap. So I’d say that is cheaper.. when you buy convenience food at the grocery store you got it think about the gas and the price of a restaurant. And the convenience food at the grocery store normally wins being cheaper even if it’s $10 cheaper. What a great harvest. Your garden sure produced a lot of stuff.

I also reuse my lids if they aren’t damaged. Makes no sense to throw it all away. This year I can’t find gem snap lids for quart jars, so yes I will have to reuse what I have as I only have a small amount of new ones left.

Use a cloth Laundry bag to grow potatoes. Anywhere theres enough light but not direct. Front step, balcony, porch etc. Water and food is most important to get a good crop. If the flowers get pollinated they grow little 'tomatoes' (poisonous don't eat!) Its the seed you save from those,😢 and you got real potato plant seed!

A friend of mine is growing potatoes in a plastic tote under a light. Anywhere you can put an appropriate container, you can grow a plant. I pray that you do get your beautiful and bountiful garden one day. 🙏

Thanks for sharing! Now that we’ve used it more this mill seems best for coarser grains, like corn. It needs run through too many times to be practical for making flour for baking
