For those who don’t know where the “Claremont Loop” is, it’s in the hills just East of Claremont, CA, a small suburb 35 miles East of Los Angeles. Black bears are a very common sight there so everyone please calm down. I live in a small town just west of Claremont and I get Black bears on a monthly basis trying to get into my trash. I also ride my mountain bike in Marshal Canyon several time a week and have a bell that’s constantly rings so I don’t run into any surprises. In 22 years I’ve had 3 experiences with Black Bears and keeping your distance is the best advice…

Performer and Performer RPM are different packages. Performer package is "Performer Plus". Includes Performer intake, heads and the small cam. Performer RPM included that manifold, the larger cam and the heads.

@@Megan24Nichole I’d say it’s possible. You might want to do a little port work and go with 2.30 intake valves. Good luck!

Beautiful car,I had a 68 in high school in the 90s,never considered replacing the steering box.I did however go to south side machine shop and put lift bars in place of the rear lower control arms,and that alone made a huge difference in the back end popping out sideways.Much more effective than traction or ladder bars. Beautiful car they always looked better then the 69s in the rear.

I’ve got 600 hp and drag radials. My car launches straight and true. Never needed any suspension mods. The stock ss suspension works well.

Very nice job of restoring your beautiful Chevelle. Just right not overdone just a true muscle car that appears to be from the factory instead of having too many mods. Nothing like a Chevelle in my opinion, just the right size and have enough room under the hood to do what you want. The brakes on a few stock ones I had, with drums all the way around, were not so good. I hope you have disc brakes on this survivor. More HP needs more brakes.

My kind of style. One thing Detroit got right in those years was aesthetics, they built cars so beautiful you can't really improve upon them. Stock style with a bit more under the hood... the best you are going to get with these kind of cars.

Isn't that a 69...chevelle?
@pearltiger2003 Жыл бұрын
The '69 had larger and more squarish shaped tail lights, where the '68 had thin, horizontal rectangular tail lights. Other than that, they are about the same. I've had a couple of each over the years, and I can't remember if there are any other differences, but they are just about the same car. My favorite one was a '69 with a 396, 4 speed close ratio Muncie trans, and posi 390 rear end. Believe it or not I had that in high school. I can't believe I survived that car, and thank God I didn't hurt anybody. I raced that car on the street and the local track for several years. By today's standards it wasn't fast at all, but then (mid and late 70's) it was fairly fast for a street car. It ran low 13's and every now and then a high 12 and it was enough to hurt you if you weren't on your game. It would go through the traps right at 120mph. Geesh I remember just trying to slow it down with factory brakes. My brother had a '66 that would do low 11's in street trim. It had a (well actually it still has the same motor today) stretched 427 with skinny rings and blueprinted so he shifted it at 7200. That car was built in about '68. Man that car is more than a handful. When we were young he'd do the ole trick of putting a $20 bill on the rear view mirror clip, and he'd say "go" and if you could get it anytime while he was going through the gears, it was yours to keep. I don't want to fib about it, but I don't remember anybody ever getting that $20 legit. Oh well, enough driving through the memories!
