Does 4k 30fps and HD 60fps. I wanted a camera mainly for videos that can still get decent pictures and this works for me. You can take pictures either while you’re recording, or you can watch a video back and pause it where you want and press the picture button to take a photo and get the perfect shot. I haven’t really experimented with it too much, just use the default setting.

Stiff crosswind! I mean, if a KC-10 is keeping his wing low, it’s gotta be brisk.
There seems to be a little low front tire pressure on that last Harrier with the tanks on the outer pylons. Gotta, love those things.
@richardgreen3910Ай бұрын
It proved how incompetent British political parties are to have not kept the Harrier jump jets as they could have simply been given current missiles as that's what really changes to be up to date the platform doesn't matter that much and it's a reliable tried and tested fighter jet instead the idiots went and bought a load of very expensive F,35s which has had problems and people have said is not that good

Echoing a previous comment - I only recently found your channel and subscribed - Thank you for doing it - I used to travel from Leeds with friends frequently to Alconbury, Wyton, Mildenhall , Lakenheath etc in the late 1970's and through the 1980's - did do the majority of Air Fetes from 1979 through to 1989. We used to camp at various sites - normally where you are filming from until the blocked it off for cars and then we started to us B&B's - one was a pub which near Judes Ferry. Happy Days

@Grid56Ай бұрын
Not sure why they didn't land normally, Mildenhall has a huge runway😂. Maybe it's because the US has cheaper fuel prices. If they had to tank up at UK prices, they'd glide in, engine off, lol.😂

Great to see the harriers (by any name) for 1 last time. A fantastic battle tested machine. I thought that Mildenhall was going to close some years ago. Like a previous poster, I attended the fantastic air shows (at least 7 times). The atmosphere was fantastic and thd sheer variety of displays electric. It was especially fun at the end when the numerous food tents were hawking trying to sell the last burgers and Budweiser

The Harriers are the Stars,I used to See Them in and Off when i Worked at Linton on Ouse,They Have to Have Distilled Water Filled Up As They Use it To Cool the Engine Intake When Hovering,I Still Think there Better than That F35,You Watch That and its All over the Place in a Hover Yet The Harrier is Rock Steady,British Engineering Was Better.
@AA-xo9uwАй бұрын
"They Have to Have Distilled Water Filled Up As They Use it To Cool the Engine Intake When Hovering"(sic) Incorrect. The distilled water is injected into the combustion chamber and turbine not the intake. A number of conditions - ambient, payload, etc. - dictate when water injection will be utilized and it is frequently done so during takeoff not the hover during recovery.

The harrier is such an amazing aircraft. I was stationed with them in Germany in the late 80s and got a back seat trip. So good to see the US still using them even though we binned them some years ago

The USMC harriers look better with the Ra dome the RAF harriers were ugly not designed right at the front sea harrier looked good though.

A busy day in Mildenhall where I was born in 1947. Fond memories of the air shows, sadly no more.
@Ian-xq4rtАй бұрын
Great capture, seeing the Harrier is a great sight, so powerful with their quick and short take off (key design feature, take off from anywhere potentially), still an amazing plane, sadly missed in the UK, a great British invention. Now we have the F35B, not so British, our industry has gone, are we really better for it?

The AV8-B was “not so British” either. It was a joint venture between McDonnell Douglas and BAE. Those shown were built in the United States.
@Ian-xq4rtАй бұрын
@@johnpirie4804 The Harrier is 100% British, in fact the yanks failed to achieve the same results, as such, the UK licensed the designs and sold planes to the USA, whom then continued to utilise them within their Marine corp. What you see is all based on British engineering.
@johnpirie4804Ай бұрын
@@Ian-xq4rt That was the first generation of Harrier. The AV8-B was the second generation jointly developed by McDonnell Douglas
@AA-xo9uwАй бұрын
@@Ian-xq4rt "the UK licensed the designs and sold planes to the USA"(sic) Incorrect. The UK never licensed either the Harrier or the Harrier II to the United States. The Marine Corps purchased 110 AV-8As and TAV-8As. The UK abandoned the Harrier II redesign in 1975 leaving the work to McDonnell Douglas and returned to the program in August of 1981 after signing the MoU - Memorandum of Understanding - paying the United States $300 million to rejoin the program which relegated BAE to the role of subcontractor after Thatcher had become Prime Minister.

How can residents ( many of whom benefit from the presence of the base) choose to live close to two very busy air bases and then complain about aircraft !?..it not like they just put it there .
@davidhunt3808Ай бұрын
I used to live right near a RAAF base in Queensland ,Australia we had regular F111s and Hornets etc. no one complained about noise because the base gave the residents jobs and was important to the local economy . Oh those pilots are not show boating as you put it they are training in the event of war to defend you and yours .
