USN ETN 2 1967-68 . Did you know Kodiak military base stored and did other things with Nukes. A marine detachment assigned. They were serious. I was ET for the aircraft control electronics in control tower thus I saw the nukes going in and out. Marines stationed in own qtrs next to runway. Did you know Kodiak has an operational ICBM base that does launch missiles over the North Pole. google.

@PortMonkeysКүн бұрын
There might be outlets behind the bed or nightstands. But you would have to unplug the lamps on the nightstands and they are probably European or Asian style outlets. The Sapphire was built in Japan. Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.

Don't be fooled. Before you depart a docked ship, there is a predetermined agreed to tourist ship list spcificaly directing tourists to shop, visit specific locations ignoring others considered too competative ( the outer towners hated and dreaded). Not to mention racism. Unless hired from outside sources, you can count on one hand the native Alaskans and fewer blacks and other nationals. The whole town is white, White, and WHITE. It's a controlled fixed township where you are not invited to live, work, or own unless you have something they need, have wanted, or expected. When tourist season ends, towns people with e police department round up stragglers and put them on the ferry or plane, telling them to never return. Try it and find out for yourself the hard way. This is America doesn't cut it. I heard the Chief of Police tell one victim, "There is the law but again there is the Skagweain law, don't return." And on to the plane, after being unhandcuffed he went. One time, Holland Americia sent out a notice that it would pull completely out of Skagway, AK if the town enforced a newly voted tourist per head tax of $50.00. Skagway, AK cannot exist without tourism and foriegn under paid labor (recruited foreign college students) whose wages are predetermined and set, requiring reimburstments for daily rent and other expenses. There is only one grocery store in Skagway and food prices are jacked up the whole tourrist season. People actually starve frrom humilation and abandonment, no christain charity out reach sources. God will judge. Why contribute to such a community as Skagway. Try being Chinese and open a estarurant and no one will rent avliable open spaces because the consensus is to keep you out in the first place. They actually hold group meetings over the pros and cons of accepting your bussiness. No rental is a polite way of saying, "NOT WECLOMED!!" Again, trry and see for yourself. Avoid the ships's list. Go and adventure. Blacklisted bussinesses will not be on that list. Help them out first. Lastly, research Southeast AK. There is so much you can do on your own, longer and cheaper than through tourist management groups. I worked tourism in Skagway for almost five years. Form your own prayer and BIble study groups and avoid local church hypocrisy. Evangelize Skagway. God knows that they need it.

Thank you for a great video and showing prices on items very cool! We're going in 21 more days same ship same 11 days...any recommendations?
@PortMonkeysКүн бұрын
Watch our videos! LOL. What we do in the ports really depends on the weather for us. Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau and Victoria are all very walkable. You can, we like Creek Street best. In Skagway, there are trails on both sides of town and straight up to the gold rush cemetery. Skagway is very small and you can see the whole town in just a few minutes. And you know we like to walk around, maybe be up to the whale sculpture. Mount Roberts Tramway is nice if it’s not raining. In Victoria, we like to walk left on Dallas Street from the port. That will take you up around fisherman‘s wharf and straight into downtown. After we’re finished in downtown, we like to go back through Beacon Hill Park to the ship. In Glacier Bay, you may want to get up early. The ship enters around 6 AM. And by 3 PM it’s out of the bay. Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.

Considering booking NCL Encore next May (late May). Heard the ship docks far away from Ketchikan downtown. How much time is needed for a quick walk around town, lumberjack show and have some crabs? Thanks!
@PortMonkeysКүн бұрын
NCL docks in Ward Cove, about a 20 minute bus ride from the main part of Ketchikan. Once there, the lumberjack show is about an hour. Creek Street is a short walk from the lumberjack show. It takes about 10 or 15 minutes to walk along Creek Street. Then if you go back to Front Street, a 10 minute walk from Creek Street, that’s where the restaurants are. We don’t know how fast you eat. Three or four hours should be enough time to do everything. Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.

I enjoyed this video very much. I have purchased this shore excursion too. It seems like you had to do a lot of walking. Were there any benches to rest? Thank you so much for sharing.
@PortMonkeys13 күн бұрын
We only walked about 2 miles that day. 1 mile down, and then a mile back. You are there about 2 hours, so it is not walking fast. We don't remember seeing benches. The worst thing about this tour is the bus ride. It was 2 1/2 hours each way. Thank you for your comments and thank you for subscribing to our channel.

I did see your comment about Apple air tag holders for dog collars, but I didn't understand what that was for. This is our first cruise ever so please fill us in. What do you need those for? Thanks so much!
@PortMonkeys13 күн бұрын
Princess uses medallions instead of ship cards. You scan your medallion to get on/off the ship, open your cabin, order drinks and food, pay for anything, etc. We wear a watch and use a dog collar air tag holder that fits on our watch strap (same size as the medallion) so we don't have to wear it around our neck. That way we never forget it!
