2501 Palisade Avenue called the Villa Charlotte Brontë. John J. McKelvey, a lawyer, writer and developer, built it in 1926 and advertised it in The New York Times for anyone whose “soul is hungry for the majesty of the river” - a fair description even today.

I grew up in Co-op on in sec 3, went to Truman and even taught at P.S.153 with the Board of Ed. Moved to Florida 2004 but we still got our apt there with my older brother at the helm. So many memories good and bad.

Mike ! I need help. We have a sex predator on 620 Baychester Avenue . He's in buildings 16-A Apartment # 7-G. I'm in apartment 6-G, & he can see me. He follows me around my place for 24 hours a day, trying to rest a device, or some sort of statue, on top of my head. He likes to watch urine stream from boys peepholes, & can't wait for me to dry off from showers If I move over 2 inches, he'll move the device over 2 inches. He follows me all day. I haven't called the police yet, because I wanted to get my evidence together. I've recorded over 1 year of footage, & now I have him right where I want him. I haven't slept in over a year. It's so uncomfortable wearing clothing 24 hours a day. I have to shower in the pitch dark, because he loves when I run the water. One time I heard Digital Cameras clicking . kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWSng3-oZ7WGns0

I can't forget the early days of Covid when co-op city exploded each evening in spontaneous support for our hero health care workers. The clamoring echoed around the brick canyons clear out to Orchard Beach. Truly inspirational.

I cant believe you never figured out the NYC ethos. The shittier your neighborhood (especially if you are from the Bronx or Brooklyn) the cooler you are because it shows you are tough and can deal with adversity. Throgg's Neck isnt shitty enough to qualify for bragging rights....that why people from Bronx/Brooklyn laugh at people from Queens and call them fags. ... Queens isnt shitty enough. Not saying it's right....in the words of our President, "it is what it is".

I moved to throggs neck from soundview in 98’ when I was a kid in the 4th grade .. I have a similar experience growing up in this neighborhood as a Puerto Rican kid as you mentioned there weren’t many of us. Especially fitting in visiting my old hood and not fully repping throggs neck. I’m still here and I appreciate it more and more everyday but it has lost it’s tight knit community feel .. I was always on the fringes of that and never apart of it so makes no difference to me.

Great video!! Is Spuyten Duyvil an area that welcomes non-white people, and black people in particular? My wife and I had considered buying a home in this neighborhood, but we received the impression that some residents were definitely *not* happy about seeing black people walking around. Some Latino friends reported a similar experience.

please tell of one incident another person or white person has done to you personally. one. i dont mean crybaby stuff like me looking white and am actually a Cherokee Indian with long lineage, documented. oh yeah my southern accent has not been easy but again crybaby stuff. they make fun,you laugh with them, and then we all move along.

You're 100% right. I was born and raised in the Bronx. Moved out 10 years ago but still work there. They hate when you call Riverdale The Bronx. And this dude that responded to your comment is a $5 Indian. I'm Mashantucket Pequot. There is NO SUCH THING as a White (Pale) Native of Turtle Island (North America)

@@thecurtray Don't let racism prevent you from integrating. The neighborhood is gorgeous and they will get used to Black faces as long as we show them we are no different than them. You have every right to live there.
