It's chaining successful instablocks, you would need guard 5 + embolden to normal block that combo IRCC.

Back when I recorded this run, the free style meta rely heavily on palamute's elemental damage. Successful Anchor rages triggers palamute's strongest attack, so I spam it as much as possible during openings where they can get damage off. In case you are curious, this is no longer the case in the present day as meta sets became massively stronger.

Yep, you can instantly instablock after a successful instablock.

Insta block doesn't require guard, but still is nice to have when you're training. And sometimes running guard is still great to enable other counter options etc. Guard dash. How instablock work is that you can chain instablock right after a successful instablock, thats how you can parry multi hits, by pressing instablock after a successful instablock. Instablocking well only really comes from experience and practice. A tip I have is to learn tells from the monster, many moves have visual/audio cues to when the attack is about to hit. I don't recommend copying speedrunning builds as they are really tough to build and play. The best armor pieces in the game are locked at mr 100-200 and some of the best decorations are locked at high level anomaly. You can try violet mitzutsune armor mixed sets for now, embolden skill is essentially more guard that stacks with guard. Once you get access to risen monsters you can just look up tu5 builds.

Do you mainly use shield tackle? I'm simply looping guard dash into leaping thrust. Shield tackle would replace guard dash as a switch skill.

Status lance (raw or poison) is basically better raw lances if you can get build up boost for your set. The amount of damage increase you get from that skill is more than any base stat advantage pure raw lance can muster, even if you don't do evade lancing for status trigger. It's a pain to roll for build up boost from quirios crafting though, and raw lance is still perfectly fine if you're not hyper optimizing. Also if you are doing poison then risen chameleos gauntlets works great. Just 1 point in build up boost is good.

Some speedrunners does bring followers and they do make the runs faster, I'd just prefer my run to be more of a fight showcase where the monster just focus on me. Especially on lance where counters are important. As for palamute equipment its palamute chains + blitz scroll with elemental weapon. You can look up some meta palamute chain setups, its exactly that.

Thanks for the tip, haven't thought about using berserk like that. Sadly it isn't compatible with Mail of Hellfire elemental sets but I'll keep it in mind.

Just visual clarity, most speedrunners simply don't want effects that has no value on reading the fight. 100% is way too much even for solo play.

If you meant adrenaline rush then nope. But the adrenaline I was refering to is dango adrenaline, which is a food skill that greatly boost your damage when on extremely low hp.
