It isn't really that hard, I'm using bloodlust and it's very easy to manage especialy with fast hitting weapons like Dual Blades or Insect Glave, same with other life draining skills, just menage rest of your equipment around that, including your Palico, I have trapper Palico with two powerfull healing skills and I rarely have to use healing potions with that
