Super heady! So lucky I got to see Jeff Back in 2002 and then again about not very long before he died. ZZ Top (minus Dusty Hill, RIP) opened for him and they jammed too. It was real horrorshow.

I've had so many idols of guitar players , my main one down the years being Clapton but I'm not into that vogue of worshipping guitar " shredders ". Playing a mess of god knows how many notes as quickly as you can is not a testament to good playing in my book. Take the best guitarists and yes they can do it but look at their normal playing and see the feel , versatility and vibe they have control over. We've lost some absolute greats like Gary Moore , Rory Buchanan etc but losing Jeff Beck is a killer. I started learning to play back in his " Hi Ho Silver Lining " days as a 15 yr old when the UK music scene was bursting not knowing what such a level that Beck was to attain to and soar past. Hendrix was a revelation with a different approach to playing and influenced Beck somewhat to further his own creativity by his own admission. To me Jeff stands out as the most creative guitarist of all time , the feel , control ( especially of that tremolo and volume knob whilst playing , so delicate ) the guy stands at No1 in guitar gods for me and never bettered. I keep replaying " cause we ended up as lovers" at Ronnie Scotts with Tal on bass as this shows what a humble man this guy was , acknowledging fellow musicians for their talent without a thought for his own greatness. I can't think of a greater loss to the guitaring world than Jeff Beck may he R.I.P leaving us with so many examples of his mastery of this instrument. You won't hear of read this Jeff , but thank you.

I was 13 years old when I saw this concert. Didn't do much for school, only playing and dreaming guitars. Clapton and Knopfler where my heroes - and still are, among a lot of other great guitarists - and I have watched this concert dozens of times. Great mucisians and great songs. After all these years watching this again made me realise that Clapton maybe is my biggest influence. This is really timeless!😊

As a Blues guitarist, you wouldn't think Beck would care for this kind of stuff. I figured he's more Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley oriented.
