This is great. I’m my son’s goalie coach to keep him busy while the other coaches are working with the players. I was told that he drops too quickly. He’s very fast at covering the 5-hole. It’s his instinct to drop and the only goals that go in are top corners. So if he’s 11, 5’2”, what are drills to work on in order to catch or block those high pucks while being in the butterfly?

Wapps, are you simply saying a shift is movement that initiates from a stopped stance and releasing into the save is a continuation of a recovery (or any other movement)? (BTW, about time getting that app on a decent platform)

Bro, my team is 1-35-4 and we get outshot 60-10 every game and I’m the only tendy, it’s kinda fun for me but not for the D. (We have 3 D and 9 forwards rn 😅) Increase Preformance, you should also check out my channel, I post hockey highlights. Love your content ❤❤

I’m crap at drills in this exact way. I can’t make the read and try to do something specific at the same time. Instead of reading, I’m thinking, and when I’m thinking, everything is late. But the drill reps, whether I make the practice saves or not, help the skillset show up unconsciously in game-time. I have to remind myself of this so I can shake off a bad practice and play with confidence.

Rather than fake till they make it. I hold fingers for them to count when I’m behind the net. This way they have to pay attention and multitask. Otherwise, kids will be kids and take the path of least resistance.

I could outplay this kid @ 11 I’m 46 wishing I stuck w it !! Now but in my day a great goalie was making 1/4 mil at most. It was not so appealing as today’s game after 16 years in the rink I walked and became a tournament fisherman
